Woody is has only recently finished his apprenticeship and even so is likely miles behind the experience and knowledge Al has. He’s learning skills from Al that only a handful of people in Australia would know. He’s still an apprentice in many ways. This is the way of the world. You earn your stripes. you can get the correct gear pattern shifter for the OEM console from OPGI here in southern cali. you can also get it for overdrive trans too if he wants to update to a overdrive unit also, uses the stock console and shifter handle. And no, that shifter isn't supposed to slide into reverse like that, the lock should work for both reverse and park.

Kugelfischer is the name for a mechanical fuel injection (MFI) pump. It was among the first units with manufacturer-customizable fuel delivery maps which used rpm, throttle position, temperature, and sometimes barometric pressure as inputs. This was accomplished mechanically, not electronically, using cones (irregularly shaped, two-dimensional cams) to encode the maps.

The X pipe simply gives half the exhaust restriction from the x pipe back. When one pulse comes down one header and gets to the x pipe, the pulse from the other header isnt there yet, so the pulse from the one side then gets two entire exhaust pipes to go down which gives basically twice the flow from the x pipe back.

Kugelfischer was awesome stuff. Had a Peugeot 504 with the mechanical Kugelfischer injection and it went amazingly well. Basically like an old diesel injection system, with a chain driven pump pushing fuel to each injector via a metal pipe. Had a number of mechanical devices to cater for coolant temp and altitude compensation that were “entertaining” to set up. And was built for a healthy engine - hard to adjust for a tired engine! But very reliable. Was the ducks nuts in its day, but lost out quickly to Bosch electronic systems.

Using breathing protection with chemicals is a great idea. But also protect your hands. You can absorb them through your skin, and sadly you see the damage when you start making babies. And of course later in life liver, colonic or stomach cancer is a grear surprise. Dad used to be painter and he was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Used to have a 66 nova, sbc350 with a blower, turbo 350 tranny. Retrofitting a ratchet shifter (like B&M) in the car and a Trans go shift kit in the transmision valve body would really upgrade the car for not a lot of money. I'm sure you guys have already recommended it to the owner though, lol.

X pipes or cross over pipes also increases flow because each bank of a V8 can flow through both rear mufflers....If the exhaust finished at the engine it would save even more money...

Enclosed LE vehicles must meet the following requirements: 10.1.1. the exhaust outlet must extend at least 40 mm beyond the furthermost outboard or rearmost joint of the floor pan which is not continuously welded or permanently sealed which could permit direct access of exhaust gases to the passenger compartment, but not beyond the perimeter of the vehicle when viewed in plan; (For all those wondering if the exhaust is legal, this is straight from the Federal Legislation, motor vehicle act 2005.....not that myself has ever abide by these rules myself😉)

The only nit pic I have is that the hole in the Xpipe is not nearly big enough, especially with the sharp merge angle. The hole should be at least 90% of the pipe size. I just hit the elbows with a saws-all and tweek the fitment with a grinder. The goal is to give the pulse a smooth transition point from one side to the other.

And with painting with an air powered spray gun, you want to make sure your compressor has enough output to properly be able to apply the paint, a low CFM compressor isn't going to work well.
