Neat video. I've heard of Sinclair Cayon but I'd not seen it before -- looks pretty neat.
@RoadsofEuropeverreme3 жыл бұрын
In most European countries space is at a premium so there's literally no room to set trees apart from the road! Also, in older roads (100+ years old) trees were planted right by the side of the road to provide shade to both travellers and beasts.

I noticed that. Driving over there has a completely different feel than here. It requires a lot more concentration I found. Over here, you can pretty much "zone out" for hours at a time between places :-)

Noticed this video was posted before I even log on to KCW... Glad I did, too. This is an excellent vid that I know is gonna become one of those elite favorites of mine! The music and imagery work perfect with each other.

@@TransCanadaPhil Is Asphalt Planet still working on Vancouver for this Friday?
@GreatAussieDrives3 жыл бұрын
This is fantastic! Apart from the natural beauty what also struck me was how well maintained that road is. The asphalt looks really smooth, the lane markings are clear, with nice wide shoulders and as you mentioned the trees being cleared on either side. Here in Australia, its not uncommon for trees to grow right up to the sides of highways.
@TransCanadaPhil3 жыл бұрын
I believe the road was very recently resurfaced. As you can see near the end, they are even working at widening the road through the Sinclair Canyon.

The highway was repaved last year. Parks Canada maintains the highway and does a great job, particularly in winter.

I've always wanted to come by here and drive this stretch, maybe in the next year or two, there's already so much in the area I gotta see one day!
@davidborrink1373 жыл бұрын
Nice drive and great music. One thing that I noticed and I've never seen it elsewhere is the hanging road signs, where they look half the size of normal signs, while hanging from and L-shaped bar. Is that a national park thing for this park to keep the signs from looking too big? It's an interesting look.
@TransCanadaPhil3 жыл бұрын
yes the signage in Canada's national parks has a consistent look and feel throughout all the national parks to make it uniform. I know there's a pdf floating around online somewhere of a guidebook that gives all the rules. :-)

The undivided roads in the Canadian Rockies are amazing and cool. Unlike through the US Rocky Mountains, it's different because the US also include's their freeway system aka the Interstate Highway System.

Too many tall trees on each side. It's also the type of tree. They grow too aggressively. Keep safe at the local Mall.
