McStachio & Co. Shaving soap vs. Muhle R41 & Feather Blade. How will it do?

This one was a soap that I was getting lots of requests for, and I finally have some to try out. I’m putting it to the test today with the aggressive Muhle R41 razor. Let’s see how it measures up.

The Muhle R41 is a beast. Everyone knows. I have one and I found that it is better to have a good cutting blade in it. A Dull blade makes it much more risky to damage yourself.

At my local dollar tree I picked up 2 white ceramic Ramekin dishes for my soap and bowl so I didnt have to use my coffee mugs.. They work pretty well. Like your skull candle holder idea.

Great shave Ken. Yeah cancer needs to be detected early and I would not want my worst enemy to go through what I did when I had cancer. It's painful beyond belief. Shew! You should cork that blade twice before using it especially in the R41. It will make for a much more comfortable shave. Tomorrow I will be using Soap Commander for the entire month of October on camera (4 shaves since I only do videos once a week).

You should try Gillette Nacet blades. Just as sharp as Feather but they are more consistent. Get at least 3 good shaves out of them, and even the 3rd pass it's still as sharp as the first. They last longer than Feather.

I gotta be honest when shaving with cartridges i would often go a full week no shave, sometimes 2 but now with being new to DE shaving I am wanting to shave daily to practice my techniques. I have never shaved as often as I have been. Usually 2-3 days and I shave.

I have bought a Simpsons Duke second hand - Shedding like crazy. I think it will have no hair very soon. I am unsure if the guy before took good care of the brush though. Good shave Ken!!! I have to give that soap a try myself. My brother just told me about them just a few days ago. Glad you had a great time in the Pacific Northwest. Just wondering, since you are most definitely a distinguished gentleman, can you come up with a shave as such? My uncle had surgery for his testicular cancer last month and my aunt has just finished up with her battle with ovarian cancer and is hoping to now be in remission. im recently got the wahl traditional barber safety razor set with proraso senstive and a proraso pre shave and to finish a british barber association post shave balm, the safety razor looks like a merkur 34c and i got feather blades as well, nicked my face a few times with my first shave second shave half the amount of nicks and third shave no nicks
