Oh holy snap can’t wait to get mine in!!! Awesome review. Love my emax products. So far they have lasted the longest in my collection. The only quad I’ve had last longer was my $99 uavfutures build, I still fly that one almost 2 years later. Yea the motors are shot but they still spin lol. My bhr 2.5(pyroflip arms) is still running great, it’s been thru a few races and tons of crashes in practice.

I flew the Babyhawk R with 6000 kv motors on 4S with 2,5''Gemfan 2540 the whole year long without any problems. You just have to do some PID tuning for 4S first place.

You can do a full throttle punch out for up to 5 seconds, then the motors burn out. Give it a try and let me know!

You think so? Emax claims that its 4S capable(for 2 inch). I don´t know if I ever did a 5 seconds throttle punch. I might accept the challenge when the BabyhawkR Pro is available ;-D

@@AlbertKimTV good to know Albert. I hardly ever hit 100% throttle let alone for 5 seconds for any of my quads. But I will take this caution. Just got the 2.5inch conversion kit and will be doing it soon and cant wait to fly it.

To me 3s is a sweet spot for these sizes. 4s makes it heavier and the dynamics change. But that’s just my opinion

I prefer 60000kv even with 4S. I flew the original Babyhawk R with 60000kv and 2,5''Gemfan 2540 on 4S for the whole year. No problems, super nice!

How does this compare to the Diatone 2018 GT-M2.506 quad on 3S (more from a specs and top tier component perspective)? I believe the Diatone came with smart audio, current sensor, etc).? Wondering which one you would get. Looks like the Diatone might have an edge.? Thanks for all of your help and hard work!

Both very good. I would get both. EMAX edges out with slight better KV motors. Diatone with VTX. Go with which ever one looks cooler to you.

@@AlbertKimTV Right on, leaning towards the Babyhawk R Pro PNP. I think I heard somewhere (maybe this video) that this quad has cam control as well as Smart Audio. Looking at the stacks manual I see a TX pad by the camera pads on the FC. Thinking that is for Smart Audio.? I would want Smart Audio but cam control doesn't matter to me. Also looking to hook up FPort along with Smart Audio. Do you think both are possible with this stack/quad?

Sticking to my 4s r3 for sure. The mmcx connector, the 25A escs and the f4 stack are nice upgrades tho. Dont like the unibody design and the 3s only-feature. Canopy lookin great too but im not a single bit jealous lol.....ok.... maybe a little bit cause of the mmcx haha

Hey Albert, are you using the base BF (NOT BF3.5) that it came with or have you updated to 3.5 yet? Well...........I did and I am having issues with the quad shaking, not a lot but ever so slightly that it is noticeable when hovering. I also notice when hovering it starts to rotate clockwise like a second hand on a watch but very slowly without input from the radio.

Thanks Albert I was actually trying to find BF3.0 as that is what was on mine when I received it. The shaking was coming from the antenna pushing up against the stack. Once I pulled the antenna through and secured it via a wire tie the shacking went away. This was not evident when on BF3.0 so my guess is it was not set to 32k

I was hoping to make the quad a little slower and i could still push myself and as i get better in acro slowly bring quad up to a more beastly ripper. Thanks for answering. Great job. I like the new upgrades to the flight stack for sure, especially with smart audio. You mentioned that you would have liked to see the 4500kv motors. I have a 3" babyhawk, is it a good idea to order some 2.5" arms and and take my 3" down to 2.5" and run with 4s? I currently run on 3S and not sure if the 3" props would take the 4S and also the micro multigp seems to have a 2.5" prop limit...

Micro MultiGP is also limited to 2S... You don't have to run 2.5 in arms, just put on the smaller prop and run 4S. I will show a video on that if you're still skeptical it won't work.

@@AlbertKimTV oh, didn't know the 2s limit. Thought it was just prop size, good to know. I'll take your word for the 4s on 3" arms and 2.5" props. Thought maybe the shorter arms would also help, but I guess leaving on the 3" gives the option to quickly put on 3" props and fly on 3s

My friend kinda stuck my rssi is only reading 9 through maybe 13. I am using the t8sg jumper and have been getting my rssi value on all of my quads. This is the first one the babyhawk r pro is not reading right. It is flying awesome. Could you please give me a few things that might help. Did notice that emax has rssi on aux 4 as the babyhawk r3 had it on aux 5. Works great on the r3. Thank u for your valuable time Albert.

Check te aux channels in the configurator. It might be on aux 5

Dissapointed it can't do 4s. You would expect them to have anticipated the TREND to 2,5" on 4s, but I guess that's the only bad thing to say about it. I still want one :) Baddly

I fly spectrum. How easy is it to get to the satalite uart on the board. Also is there a 3.3v rail for the spectrum race rx?

Is there any difference between high kv 3s vs low kv 4s? I was curious because I thought it didnt make much of a difference in performance. Maybe using high kv would be good though for weight on the 3s vs 4s. I might be wrong so correct me if I am.

Actually, I will be using most of the new features and will have recommended settings... it's complicated so there will be in intro video and then individual videos for each model as I had to tweak a lot of stuff for each one. This is taking a lot longer than I expected so please be patient.

Yep, they spent a lot of time tweaking the tune. With Betaflight 3.5 tuning is really a necessity now.

Great review! Looks like the FC has been changed on this stack? My buddy purchased the Magnum Mini 2 Stack a few months ago when it first came out and we were both disappointed as no UARTS were available for Smart Audio via LUA. From what I understand you cannot use Cross Fire with it either. I am hoping this is not the case with the new stack as I really like the form factor and would like to use it on a few 5" builds.

The new stack is the Magnum Mini 2 Lite... it has 5 UARTS. They will be updating the Magnum Mini 2 soon so it will have more uarts for crossfire. Stay Tuned...
