I was blessed to be in this video with the chorus! I can tell you firsthand that Jerry Lewis treated us amazing! It was such a privilege to be a part of this event! Thank you to everyone for all of the kind words in the comments! I did see one comment about today's chorus having females. Not long after this show, the chorus added the first female, Deanna Hernandez. I was her squad leader. Also, the soldier singing the second solo in God Bless the USA, William Glenn, won the very first Military Idol!!!

Do members of this group possibly still meet and sing together? I know a lot of years have passed. This is a well-down song, a capella is difficult, but your group did it well. In these times of division, your group and your song might just bring much needed unification and standing together. I am not American, but I sure get the power of a song to bring out pride in one's country.

REAL pride! Where is this kind of patriotism today? I wonder. I wonder how many still understand what real pride is. I'd bet every one of these guys turned out to be great leaders. I hope my son comes back someday just to talk and really let us know he's ok. It hurts to be without him, but his choice. I hope these guys still talk with their parents and do them proud. God bless troopers.....

At 70, I am still an AF brat. I’m proud of my father’s service from WWII to the Vietnam Era. He served in the Pacific with Codetalkers, was in the first occupying troops in Japan and saw the horrors there, was a radio man during the Berlin Airlift and continued service through Korea, the Cold War and Vietnam. I was always a proud of my father in his dress blues. Who had such a dad? We were taught respect for our country, the flag, the National Anthem, our president. We stood in quiet meditation at the American Cemetery at Normandy. We were taught to respect the office of the president, even if we didn’t care for the man. I love to see a military ceremony, the presentation of the colors, a military March, and I’m not ashamed to say that the National Anthem, sung as a true feeling anthem and not a football operatic or jazz performance, can bring me to tears. I even have a Yankee Doodle grandchild born on the 4th of July🎉. I am proud to be an American.

This choir is Army 82nd Airborne. The “AA” on their eplets are Army Airborne. The 82nd and 101st are by far the most well known airborne units. As far as the Air Force having a choir, yes they have Several, but this is Not one.
@sarge3255
@sarge3255 Жыл бұрын
The AA stands for All American, not Army Airborne. The 82nd Infantry Division was formed in 1917 for WWI and had members from state, so it chose All American and the AA patch to represent itself. Of course, it did not become an Airborne unit until WWII. While there used to be two airborne divisions, the 82nd and 101st, the 101st lost its airborne status in 1973 (the year I joined the 82nd). The 101st kept “Airborne Division” in its name for historical reasons.

Wrong!! That is the song for the US Air Force, also called "The Wild Blue Yonder." I have been an AF wife for 33 years. We live about 15 miles from Ft Bragg and what was Pope Air Force Base before it was turned over to the Army. Now it is Pope Air Field. The 2 were closely connected because the Air Force C-130's that transport the troops were stationed right next to the Army Post, Ft Bragg. Don't call it Ft Liberty either. It will forever be Ft Bragg. Just another of Biden's dumb decisions.
