I don't currently know any younger relatives who might want the watch, though I actually would like to own it, because I like the lume of the dial. However, a friend of the family DOES have a young boy, Carson, who I believe is around ten years old, so if you WOULD like this watch to go to a younger kid, I would give it to him, or have my wife give it to him whenever she sees him next. I'm sure he would love getting it if you decided to send it to me.

I really doubt this case is stainless steel - or it would have not got those deep nicks on the lugs when you tried to pop off the rear stainless steel cover. I would say it is a metal alloy case.

Thank you for this, Josh. However, do consider the Ricardo Swiss Alpine Military watch. Oddly, it's never considered in videos on field watches. (Ricardo have made some expensive vintage watches too). This Ricardo should be a Classic with its superb 12/24 hour luminous cream face and Quartz (Japanese) movement (cost under £30) I prefer it to my Timex Expedition.

The movement is most likely a Sunon. They cost retail around $5. The strap $1. My friend, the rest is in the watch 😉

@@TheTownWatch, if memory serves, the Chinese produce a movement that sounds like Miyota, but it's not. Check with Dave Swartz. I believe he reviewed a watch with that movement.

They also have a reputation for just copying movements and falsely labeling them. Oh well, since it is a $20 watch, the customer on that end of the market probably does not care either way. Anyway, I wanted to ask you about your black Promaster Tough. Are you still in the honeymoon phase? I am seriously thinking about buying this watch.

Quickly looking on Amazon and ebay you can get a Timex mk1 in aluminum or steel with an acrylic crystal for $25 - $35 even some chronographs. For that money you get a watch with a little bit of heritage as Timex has been around a long time. I have one and it is pretty good and also had indiglo for great nightime viewing. I would skip this no name brand.
