The character development for deku was actually that deku had to realize that to save the smiles of others, he would have to destroy the smiles of other people. Gentle was a really well written character, as a foil to deku. he did what deku did but in his situation it turned out bad, gentle didn't become a villain out of choice, he became one of out of necessity he was terrified of being forgotten, as he mentions ''Am i just going to grow older,poorer and more pathetic?'' it shows his desperation to make something of himself. it's also why he says that gentle was the hardest battle he had faced yet.

This is probably the most hyped I've ever been for one of your reactions- But yeah, I definitely wouldn't say they have Joker or Harley Quinn vibes, but they do have a really good partners in crime dynamic...and I also feel like they were sort of wasted- For now anyways- Because the thing is, they were technically villains but they weren't actually bad guys, like they never once intentionally hurt anyone seriously, and they don't even do it for malicious reasons, like they're not trying to pull off heists for money, or trying to plot to destroy anyone, instead it's almost like...unwanted security testing? XD Like they didn't really want to do any harm or anything, they just wanted their names out there somehow and to try and have a somewhat positive impact even if their means of doing so weren't "just". They're almost like the reverse to Endeavor at the start of the show, Endeavor was a great hero who got better results than anyone else, but he was a horrible person to the people who looked up to him, and to his own family. Gentle and Le Brava on the other hand may be "villains", but they're good people with good/neutral intentions. And it sort of just felt like the whole point and the possibilities of their characters were just sort of glossed over- I would've liked to see them get away after Deku realized how harmless they were, but instead Deku almost sort of came across...like a bit of a dick to me? He didn't try and reason with them or talk to them or anything a good hero would do, instead he just immediately jumped into a fight and just sort of stopped their story and possible character arcs abruptly and went on like nothing happened-

We'll probably have flashbacks, or a return with a change of heart with those two, perhaps even being security tests just like you said. They put too much effort into those two to have such a short existence. I'm fairly certain we'll see them again sometime.

I thought La Brava was a little girl? In her flashback it showed that she found his videos during her suicidal times during middle school and she fell in love instantly then tracked him down. Didn’t say exactly how much time had passed but I figured it wouldn’t long between her finding his videos and then meeting up with him.

Honestly when they beat labrava and gentle criminal I was low-key kind of mad because no matter the circumstance the main villain always loses to Deku almost always and no real character has died or even been severely injured to the point that they might die yet even though in other shows that plot armor the characters a lot like Naruto and Dragonball character still lost in the Dragon Balls case Goku died like several times I feel like my hero is protecting the characters too much to the point that it's not exciting whenever character wins

Well bruh their is a good reason in why Goku could die is because of the dragon balls and with that they could always bring people back from the dead and gives the author a reason in how they could bring them back but meanwhile in my hero academia they got no powerful reset and lets go power running around; it’s only a one time go, so if the author chose to kill off a character then that character is forever dead unless they did some deus ex machina type of revival shit so the author has to get incredibly careful with this and also they did kill if some characters like Sir night eye and that transgender guy and also it’s a villain against the main character so low key it’s already gonna be a lost for the villain and going back to deaths sir nighteye and magne (trans guy) aren’t real characters to say but at least the author showed that he and his team still has the guys to kill off character if they agree to do it

I wish I liked Deku more. I don’t hate him, but I love the villains in My Hero so much more than the heroes. I really only read the manga for the villains. So volume 24 or 23, the villain volume, stand out favorite for me. I actually skipped over Gentle but he’s cool/interesting. Maybe more interesting than Overhaul. I just really don’t care about the heroes and I’m not sure why. Deku has a cool power set and interesting arc but damn I just don’t care for the average UA moments at all.

I like the gentle V Deku as a story, but Deku's final line of "you were my most challenging foe" if he meant that then THE FUCK? We just saw you take on a guy that required you to use 100% of one for all, Muscular almost killed him requiring also Deku to go past his limits, Gentle was one of the only opponents where Deku didn't have to push past his limits in order to take them out other than that, the fight was decent
