There's room to customize it...you can get a qd mlok adapter, you can get it coated to your liking...I agree on the pannels...I wish there was a point for a sling stud on the butstock...will have to make my own... good vid👍.

For a 243 intended mainly as a coyote hunter on a tripod, but with the versatility to hunt deer and antelope too, would you get an MDT Oryx or a XRS chassis??

I actually like the thumbless screws because it’s flush so less likely to get stuck but then again they could have put the adjustment knobs on the bottom

It is an excellent budget chassis. The minor faults like the quality of the coating on the aluminium, are not enough to outweigh the advantages. I have two, so far.

Have you checked the spacing of the screw holes on the forearm for mounting Pic Rails for your added accessories? Second try removing those plastic sides there could be more holes along the length of the forearm for such as well.

Must be nice to have a QD mount on your butt stock….mine didn’t come with one. So I’ve been trying to figure out how to make that so. Hardly any information or parts listed anywhere about this system.

I prefer a flat hand guard. I prefer the original AR15 hand guards over the m4 hand guards. To me the flat hand guards feel better in the hand as well as shoot better off of a bench, bag or other objects.

Nice review! How about the recoil and vibrations? I mean for a .308 for eg. How do you feel it compared to other chassis or stocks?
@Bullets4Bucks
@Bullets4Bucks 4 жыл бұрын
I compared it to the tspx and rpr on my channel. It does not have the folding stock or modularity of the rpr but isn't bad. It does vibrate a tiny bit but it doesn't seem to affect accuracy. Recoil is not bad but thats going to depend on barreled action, caliber and muzzle brake.

Mate what height in scope rings did you use? I am late to the Oryx Chassis as I have just bought it for my Tikka 270WSM and found the scope is way too low now.

does the raised edge of the buttstock rear get in the way of pushing a cleaning rod through the barrel? I understand the cheek riser can be removed but does the cleaning rod bend when it hits the read raised edge? although one can use a brass jab and a fiberglass rod I am still concerned about the rod not entering parallel to the barrel and possibly damaging the lands. any experience with cleaning the barrel so far? also what size cleaning rod do you use?
@Bullets4Bucks
@Bullets4Bucks 3 жыл бұрын
You have to remove the riser to get the rod through properly and I do believe you have to flex the rod just a very small amount to run it but its not bad or an issue while cleaning mine.

Aren't the LOP spacers extra and magazines at extra cost? Also the Cheek riser Pad set screws can be replaced with larger knurled knobs , again at extra cost.

@@Bullets4Bucks Then I guess, I am confused by the lack of information of their website! I'd like to buy a stock for my Mossberg Patriot, but from what I can see, the initial price has to go up, significantly, just to get what Boyd's Stocks gives me at considerably less cost.

I got the stock and had issues. It has a hidden screw in the back of the trigger guard that was impossible to tighten properly. It had a lot more felt recoil than expected. It did not improve my groups, and you have to take the cheekpiece off to clean it.
