Obviously there is backwards compatibility (except for the 10 games that Sony has listed - which says playable by PS4 only). Some games I heard will get the game boost treatment (where certain PS4 games will have smooth framerates at 60 FPS with better loading). The rest - are there - but it's best to test the PS4 games before playing them on the PS5.

U don’t need to update it just put in the disc inside the ps 4 system and before that go to your network option and turn it off then slide the disc in the system and the game will start dawn loading u didn’t need to wait that long at all just be offline and the update won’t dawn load or be online if you want but pause the update or delete it so it won’t suck out your memory because every dawn load is some gb in space in order to have a lot of space just buy the disc version always and dawn load it in the system and your good to play and yes u can be offline the whole time

We all had great memories of playing on our ps4 but our memories don’t end there. There’s at least backwards compatibility with the Ps5 meaning that you can ps4 games on the Ps5 and Ps5 games on the ps4. Right now, my uncle and I are currently thinking of installing Ps5 specs (like storage and etc to name a few) in my ps4 so I can use it longer and it’ll be more consistent in the future. I’m going to still use my ps4 for like 10 more years. For now let’s see what happens.
