Thank you again Nadia ❤️ you reaching out to people about this has a tremendous impact, at least it did on me!! I'd been toying with the idea for some months last Autumn, listened to the Menopause Dr, Liz Earle and Davina.. So I was learning more and more but it was after watching your video telling us you started HRT, that's what gave me that extra push. Thank you I honestly believe it has changed my life back to happy, my body was painful, my thoughts were dark some days, I didn't feel like me anymore and like you I believe in the holistic approach but nothing worked but this wonderful HRT!! Fantastic video!! X

Thank you so much for doing this nads. It makes me so hungry this disservice women get, no just with menapause. I strongly believe in women’s rights. Why should we have to suffer for so long without help. It’s a disgrace. Thank you for raising awareness. My mum went through menapause at 39 and had a nervous breakdown and didn’t know what was happening to her. She suffered for YEARS and never took HRT as at that time people were scared of it. So wish she had gone on it. I’m 32 and will definitely get HRT if I can when it’s my time. Thank you again.

Morning Nadia I just want to say a big Thankyou for highlighting all of your symptoms of the menopause. I was taken into hospital last year with excruciating pains in my lower abdomen. To cut a long story short I ended up having a partial hysterectomy, anyway I started having quite a few of the symptoms you have spoken about. Watching your previous vlogs on hrt and watching Louise newsome website I feel a lot of my symptoms are due to the lack of oestrogen. Watched Davina’s programme also which was very informative too. Have informed a few of my friends who have also similar symptoms and have been put on antidepressants . Thankyou again ❤️

Thank you for sharing your menapause experience. Have had increased symptoms of perimenapause in last month. I can't sleep, have severe anxiety (which never had before) , hot flushes, night sweats, joint pain (have rheumatoid arthritis been on many medications. )shortness of breath, brain fog, tummy pain, fatigue, want to eat all the time, irrability, low mood, no sex drive ,back pain and skin rash. My periods stopped now only once in March this year. In the last month had to visit A&E 7 times because of shortness of breath. Checked for clots in chest, legs, head and kidneys stones. Now been referred to Urology plus given sentealine for anxiety. I think its perimenapause and I should be on hrt. Will look at the web sights you have given. Its so good to hear what you say. Will go to menapause doctor. How to ask for what I need. So grateful!!

Hi Nadia, this is a valuable discussion but at the same time I find it depressing. I live in an EU country ( I am a British citizen) where health insurance is mandatory and although I’m 51 and I think nearing the end of peri menopause, to get HRT or complimentary medicine is expensive for me as I can only afford basic insurance and the basic cover does not include HRT etc. I’m trying my best to cope naturally but it’s difficult at times. I started my journey at 44 and have been through some horrible times but hopefully my body will settle down and I’ll be able to cope better. Wishing all you ladies out there a smooth journey x.

Hi Nads that was really informative. I have downloaded the Balance app. Was told by my Dr last week they no longer do blood tests or give out HRT. I need to go back in 12 months to discuss it with her. I am also type 1.5 diabetic so separating some of the symptoms is a minefield. So hopefully I will get some help. X
@anne501s663 жыл бұрын
That's just not true, HRT is being given. I would urge you to go to the website and arm yourself with knowledge to assess your own symptoms and know your rights like nadia says. Print off and fill out the symptom chart and go back to Your GP or maybe a different one. If you're over 45 and have had a change in periods and have other symptoms on the list definitely get a second opinion. Good luck 💛
@CBEEBLE3 жыл бұрын
Jacqueline ask to be referred to a specialist menopause clinic. There is one at the Chelsea and Westminster (NHS) but there maybe one in your local area. Don’t take no for an answer. If your GP declines again tell her you will need to seek a second opinion from a colleague in the same GP practice in the first instance before putting your concerns about your treatment in writing through the formal complaints procedure. Google GP second opinion and see Citizen Advice Bureau info on this. Ask at GP reception or look online re the complaints procedure for your GP practice. All GP practices are assessed (in part) by their level of complaints so it will be in the Surgery’s interest not to let it escalate to that stage. The faster route, of course, is to go and get assessed privately (around £700 a £1000) and once a medical report with diagnosis and treatment plan has been sent to your GP - HRT can be prescribed on the NHS. I can highly recommend Dr Beverley Benster. I wish you luck, don’t suffer another 12 months or in silence.

Im 47 and perimenopausal. Night time waking, low mood, bleeding every two weeks, flooding which was horrific. I was offered hrt but still needed contraception so I asked my GP about a combined pill considered safe for older women. I went on Qlaira earlier this year and it's taken five months but the bleeding has completely stopped and barely even have any spotting now, the estrogen in it is estradiol valerate which is apparently closer to our natural estrogen and progesterone dienogest which I believe they use in hrt. I can hopefully stay on this until I'm completely through the menopause. My sex drive has returned and fingers crossed things will continue going so well. I think they don't offer Qlaira initially as it's more expensive than some forms of the combined pill. NB; there is currently a Qlaira shortage in import to the UK so I have to order it unlicensed from Europe. Another alternative is the pill Zoely, also very similar to our own hormones. Not tried testosterone but would be open to it.
