I am so thankful for your videos on menopause. I've been dealing with menopausal depression for 3 years. I am a shell of the person I used to be. I tried everything from SSRIs to psylocybin mushrooms to ketamine. They are helpful but not a long term solution. I am a breast cancer survivor and after watching your videos I insisted and finally this past week my oncologist agreed to let me try low dose HRT. Thank you❤

this discussion blew my mind !!! I am 52. I have a female gynecologist who is extremely open to HRT, but who has said “after 10 years it’s over, no matter what”. there is no chance that I’m getting off that life changing treatment and I had already decided to change gynecologists in five years. learning there is absolutely no reason to get off it is amazing ! I started HRT in my mid 50s-ish I’m now 66. My testosterone, progesterone and estrogen levels are checked through a blood test. My HCP makes a prescription for me based on these levels. I have a transdermal cream made using that prescription at a compounding pharmacy. The hormones are derived from yams and are bio identical to human hormones. I apply said amount on my thighs morning and night. It’s drastically improved my quality of life. I go once a year for follow up unless I’m having a problem which I’ve never had, the doctor discusses my concerns and spends an hour with me. My first gynecologist didn’t like HRT and said he’d give me Prozac. I told him, I think its better to take a bio identical hormone that my body makes rather than Prozac which my body does not not make. I guess he thought it was all in my head.

Great that you focus on this topic - I am 62 and it is too late for me to start HRT. My menopause symptoms started in my mid forties and I still have the occasional hot flash 😫 When I went into menopause (age 51) my doctor advised me not to take HRT because of the (now debunked) breast cancer risk 😞 I would love for you to interview Dr Stacy Simms, PhD, who studies womens health, training and menopause. She has some really great insights to how menopausal women should train to preserve bone health, muscles, heart etc. Super interesting. 😀

Check with a good doc. The ten years is just a guideline. If you heart and blood vessels are strong and healthy you can still go on. If you have already suffered cardio aging and damage from estrogen deficiency then you can't add her now. But check it out. Instead on cardio tests.

I’m adding this comment here because your series on menopause sparked my thinking. I went through menopause 22 years ago, and since I had no symptoms, no hot flashes and night sweats no nothing it didn’t dawn on me about the effects I could have down the line . Now at 75. It’s too late to do anything but, and this is a big but, about 10 years ago I started to notice this thickening in my waistline I have a “ spare tire that no amount of exercise will reduce and a pouch belly that is nor going anywhere . I’m a petite woman 5’ 1”and always been slender. I eat well and exercise, so I don’t know where this came from. recently, I’ve been doing some research and came across the concept that the chemicals that we use all the time predominantly phthalates can have serious consequences that obesity and weight gain being one of them. Now trying to remove them from everything we use is mind-boggling. I’ve gone and gotten rid of all my plastic containers using all glass ,finding laundry detergent that has no phthalates, etc. but what I would love to see on your channel predominantly because you really have in my estimation, one of the most logical, concise, informative and educational channels around. How can we find which products have these harmful chemicals how to decipher the coding in the ingredient deck that might use another term for them. I know I started small with the laundry detergent and glassware, now I have to get rid of all my lovely plug-ins that make my house smell great, but where to go from there is a mystery and overwhelming .I am hoping for the beauty community, and all these channels that Iwatch with make up and hair to take this on as a cause and help educate their viewers into what they should buy, what and they shouldn’t buy what they should look for etc.Maybe you can be the tip of the spear and start this ball rolling
@sarahrosen498510 ай бұрын
Good for you for realising and wanting to change. I think you will find more answers in the biohacking space than the beauty and makeup space. They tend to espouse the "there is NOTHING wrong with plastic or toiletry additives " and "there are no such thing as hormone disrupters". Start with someone like Andrew Huberman and, hopefully, The Algorithm will suggest more biohackers / knowledgeable health researchers. Also, Really Very Crunchy has started doing unboxings of very natural, no plastic, products sent to her. If you are in the US (I am not), you might see some products to try. That spare tire is a #%£@! and every weapon available to fighting it should be used!

These videos are so incredibly needed and helpful. Thank you!! I am wondering if the next time you interview someone regarding HRT if you would please ask about blood testing. I know there are are few schools of thought on this, and I don't believe MyAlloy requires or feels the need for them (I am using them and am very happy so far!). I have had a few people express surprise that I wasn't having blood work as part of the treatment, so I am curious to know more. If you have already covered this, my bad. I would be grateful to be directed to that video though I feel like I have watched most of them...twice haha. You are the best!

Hormone levels vary greatly, not just day-to-day, but even throughout a single day. As a result, tests for hormone levels are inaccurate and therefore not helpful for prescribing treatment. HRT is best prescribed and adjusted based on symptoms not by blood test results. ( I get HRT through Winona ( on line it is similar to Alloy) for my hormones and my HRT had to be adjusted according to my symptoms which I shared with my dedicated physician. ❤

I I also eat clean and do fresh juicing, drink lots of water, take one pump of testosterone gel daily take 1mg estradiol and also 200mg progesterone and I also stay out of the sun when I can and use sunscreen when I do what else am I missing here could I maybe need to go up with HRT dosage or maybe ADD DHEA?? Anyone get help or experience in that department?? Anyone take more than 1mg Estradiol and noticed it helped de age their arms? 😅 I am blessed with my GP hooking me up with my hormones but she’s not going to be concerned about my arms. ✅And yes bumping up to 200 from 100mg progesterone helped me sleep tremendously better for anyone wondering if that has helped anyone. Zero hot flashes too. 🥰 Xo ✨💖✨
