My gosh, I haven't seen an E. Meadowlark for years here in Quebec. Like all birds, they've simply disappeared. Well, not all have disappeared like the Chickadee, the Junco and the Blue Jays, crows and ravens are still here. but its great to see this Meadowlark again with its brilliant yellow vest and that little vee. Thank you for this. Joan

Thanks, first time I've had so much time with the Meadowlark - great bird. I've noticed fewer birds overall this winter - not as many visitors from up North!

Thank you. Very nice video. This helped me identify the bird that nested in the birdhouse in my backyard sanctuary in Dayton, Ohio.

When I was a boy I had a favorite story of a meadowlark who lives where the rivers wind.

As you'll see it was extremely winds out in the open marsh and hard to hand-hold the zoom but Nature is rarely perfect. The occasional odd noises you hear are the wind filter distorting the calls and cackles of other birds and wind in the background. BB

I was watching this yesterday and I fell in love with their calls, it's such a soothing, whistling tune. very nice capture, thanks for sharing BB. =)

@@MyBackyardBirding very serious question , please reply ....I live in Colorado and grew up here , every spring and summer we had these beautiful birds here , it's been over 6 years since I have seen or heard one . Any guesses of why ? I miss seeing them and hearing their beautiful song . Thank you for your time and would greatly appreciate your thoughts on why we don't see them anymore 😢

there use to be hundreds of these birds on the farm I grew up on in Wisconsin in the 70's... they'd gather to feed in the hay fields after mowing to catch all.the insects.

I'm glad you can hear it. I couldn't hear a thing except for a barely audible chirp from time to time. I still don't know what a meadowlark sounds like and my volume was at maximum.
