As always everything you made looks delicious! You can lower the points on the chicken salad on blue and purple by using some fat-free Greek yogurt for some (not all) of the Mayo. I can't eat it with just the yogurt. Sometimes I'll mix low-fat cream cheese and yogurt into my chicken salad. It's super creamy. You could also use laughing cow cheese wedges and yogurt, I'm thinking blending fat-free cottage cheese with yogurt (on purple it's 0 points) would be creamy and might taste good plus lots of protein. I make a salmon salad using 1 can canned salmon, 1 TBS each low-fat mayo and mango chutney, 1/2 cup halved grapes and 1 TBS sliced almonds. Serve in spinach or greens of choice. It's so delicious and it works well with tuna and chicken as well.
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much!! I really wish I could get used to the flavor of the yogurt for replacements in recipes. Sometimes it doesn't make much of a difference, but sometimes I just can't get it down. It's strange. It's the same with some fat-free things for me - I'm okay with reduced fat, but the fat-free things for some stuff I just can't do. Usually I just look at it for the whole points I'm having for the day and as long as my breakfast and lunch don't come up to more than 12, I'm usually good. That salmon salad sounds amazing!!!

I would love a meal prep just using a slow cooker. Put the ingredients in the crock pot in the morning and divide up into containers in the evening. Enjoy meal prepping but also at this busy time get to enjoy your day. The bonus less clean up too.
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I've actually done a couple of those in the past! I'd have to look back to see which meal preps they were. When I do those, I usually cook them overnight and that way they're done in the morning when I'm ready to prep. :) You're right - it does save a little time and definitely less clean up. I think a did a chicken taco chili one time.

I may have substituted some of that light Mayo for fat free Greek yogurt to bring down the points a tiny bit. I like the tanginess of the yogurt with the mayo. And yes, I’d add some grapes cut in half as well. I’m going to make a single serving of the overnight oats right now😉

I am so sorry to hear about your dog...I know exactly how badly you are hurting. We lost two Pit Bulls when they were about 14...6 months apart. They were littermates and once Deablo was gone, Bella had no will to live. Loved them so much. Swore I would never get another dog....Six months later we adopted Gia, for my grandson who lives in our downstairs with his mom. That dog loves him to death ... Then KCPetProject got a little blind Shih Tzu and we adopted him two weeks after Gia. They are besties...but the Shih Tzu is definately in charge! It isn't the answer for everyone but we figured the best way to honor Bella and Deablo. Just take care of you and know that lots of us understand how deep the sadness goes.( Someone had put the blind Shih Tsu out in traffic and drove away)
@PlanningUsHealthy3 жыл бұрын
Awww...I'm sorry about your loss as well, Pat. But what a wonderful person you are to adopt again! I'm sure we'll end up doing that in the future. Molly is doing much better, but she still looks sad at times. How horrible for someone to do that!!!! I don't understand how someone can live with themselves after doing something like that. When we adopted Molly, she was a baby. The SPCA said that she and her brother were found because a car threw a bag out on the side of the road and the car behind them stopped to see what it was, and they found the two puppies in there. Such heartless people out there!!! Thanks so much, my friend!!

Thanks so much, Pat! These oats were so good!! Yes, whether the vinegar helps or not, who knows. So glad my videos are helpful to you! :)

My sister who lives 40 minutes away where my 2 daughters live will be having surgery, so I will be taking care of her for 2 weeks. So I'm thinking about the Chicken BLT and a lot of other recipes(with ground turkey or chicken and even the Sloppy Joe Casserole) you have that my husband wouldn't eat that I know my sister will. Out of 6 of us kids, I am the only one married and my middle brother(5 years younger than me, and he's been married 36 years). So I am there to watch out for my little sister after her surgery and can try more of your recipes.

What size are your mason jars? I just use 8 oz and they are actually only 1/2 full but stirring the ingredients is much easier. Plus, I do put yogurt and protein powder in mine. My oats for tomorrow are salted caramel. They are so good. My favorite. I have a chocolate recipe one, a strawberry one and a coffee one. Nothing like oats with a kick.

Why do you put the vinegar in the fruits?
@PlanningUsHealthy4 жыл бұрын
It's just always how I've cleaned fruits and vegetables - supposedly gets off any bacteria. If I just have a handful that I'm washing just to quick eat, I just wash them in water real good. I usually just do this when I've got a lot and I'm prepping. I think it's more habit than anything. LOL

Hi Rachel. I think its more habit. I always soak in vinegar water to wash off any bacteria. But a good wash in just water will do too. I do it this way when I have a bulk amount to do.
