It's choreography from the show. However, in the show they have props that they couldn't use here. So they kinda have to make do without their set. I agree that they could have cut some out considering some just look weird without the props/set.

I saw the show, and Regina does get lifted a lot throughout the show, but in this number they have like a turn table set and a couple of other props, so they modified the choreography and added more lifts so they could make do without all the props

The huge amount of lifts was on purpose I’m pretty sure - it shows Regina’s manipulative ways with over-the-top choreography to show how extra she is and how fake her statement is (if that makes sense). The point is, it’s part of the plot.

Idk if you've seen the show or bootleg but it's a lot better in the actual show when the costumes/sets come in to play. Here it just looks like they're lifting her around for no reason, but there are platforms and stuff they're setting her on that make it look more elaborate and intentional.

She's an amazing performer- a powerful voice, but let's be honest, she didn't play Regina to the fullest of her character. Regina is cunning and manipulative, but Taylor played her as a ditzy girly blonde, with only a few more brain cells than Karen. I absolutely adore her, but her acting wasn't up to par for me.
