Just saw Strangis on Batman, which led me here. Funny as I had a '73 Duster exactly like the one in this ad, except it was brown. The reptilian roof made me dub it The Lizard King. Built like a tank, it was all but indestructible and ran forever. Thanks for posting this.

Mean Mary Jean goes back at least to 1970, in radio ads. "Mean Mary Jean, she's our Chrysler-Plymouth girl, she knows what we mean." She was just a voice.

I could be wrong, but I remember a version with an extra line: "Mean Mary Jean, superstar of our team. She's our Chrysler-Plymouth girl...."

Yes indeed. When she spoke in tv commercials, she'd usually say "Know what I mean?" which indicated why she was called "mean Mary Jean". Almost similar to young people now that misuse or overuse the word "like".
