I feel like getting a V6 is the way a lot of people start out. I had a V6 mustang for about 10 months before I traded it in for a 5.0. The V6 was exciting for a little while, but after time went on and I learned more about cars and making a build, I needed either a supercharger or a v8. So I got the V8. Lots of naturally aspirated power, better sound, better looks, just a totally different experience. Just one thing, if you own a v6, dear god dont put v8 badges on it.

I’ve owned a v6 4th gen camaro and been driving it for 25 yrs. Then afew months ago I bought a 2013 2LT RS CAMARO in black. I love the v6 Camaros. There cheaper in cost cheaper to insure and fun to drive.

In February I was able to get a 2013 2LT RS as well with just under 15,000 miles. Very happy with it. I didn't realize until after buying it that finding a 2013 2LT RS in manual with low miles is almost impossible. I thought the refresh for the 2014 and 2015 took away from the great look of the 5th gen. The 2013 is the best in looks, features, and reliability. Just my own personal opnion.

Also, todays v6 engines can push about 310hp which is outstanding considering if you go back a few years they pushed about 200hp. Good on you for getting something you enjoy!

I had this exact same discussion with a friend of mine just yesterday!! I ordered a Mustang GT and I am waiting on delivery. I did get the V8 with a 6 speed manual transmission. So many guys said why not get the automatic, it's faster. I had wanted a Mustang my whole life. I had dreamed about it for years. I knew exactly what I wanted in it. Now after many many years of dreaming, I am finally going to have the car that I have wanted with absolutely all of the options I wanted. It is not the perfect car for everyone. It is not the fastest car on the road or the most expensive but it is the PERFECT car for me!

If you know how to drive that stick, (and you will learn how, trust me) you will blow the automatic off the road 10 out of 10 times all day every day. Now, I had a V6 camero as a rental car for 3 weeks and it was an automatic, with paddle shift, 13 yes 13 gears and I was eating mustang GT's off the line and all they ever got a view of was camero tail lights. Automatic, 5 speed, 6 speed, and this was a bone stock V-6 camero. Would I ever buy one? Hell no! But impressive and eye opening, is a UNDERSTATEMENT!!!! Absolute number one rule when it comes to engines, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR CUBIC INCHES!!!!!! PERIOD Now let's be honest, they all fun to drive. Myself, mustang, camero, whatever, they all chicks cars. I am and always will be a die hard truck man. Come play with me and my diesel. Hope you're a smoker!!!! Lol. The first car I ever bought for myself was a 2012 Ford Mustang, v6 as I was a enlisted soldier and didn't have a lot of disposable income to throw around, and I had a cosigner so I got a fair good deal, but I cant tell you the amount of shit I got from everyone who knew me and knew I had a v6 mustang, they thought that was a cardinal sin, and I was thinking, I use this for a daily driver, I don't need a gt or a Shelby gt500 to get me from A to B, I didn't buy the car for racing or for drags anything like that, I bought the car cause it was a good looking car that was relatively cheap to maintain. anyway after all that my point is, who gives a shit what other people think, buy a car you will enjoy driving that you enjoy to look at, and that's perfect, fuck all the haters who think they know otherwise lol.

Mrgreg - a 2016 rs isnt slow as fuck, its not slow at all. Hits 60 in 5 seconds or so and handles shockingly well, with more potential in that department than the ss ever will due to balance. You simply dont know what you are talking about. V6 mustangs and camaros used to be garbage but thats no longer the case. Take the 2011 mustang v6 and compare it to a 2010 gt, its very close. The 2016 camaro rs is a better overall car than either. Its so good, its got to be considered by anyone looking at 6cyl sports cars, european or otherwise.

I bought a Very nice RS ... once, V6 ... and at first I was excited. But its undeniable, the very back of your mind is regret, buyers remorse. I did same thing .. told myself its an awesome car .. and it was . But my car always had that foot note “v8” ... i went from a 5.0 , to the RS . Thinking i made a wise choice. Same issue, constant questioning .. much like the comment section below.. no amount of explanation or rationale will satisfy muscle car enthusiast . It will make you feel bad or wishful for the V8. Its evident in your case too, because later you bought the gen 6 LE ... black ... so that gen 5 LE thT you passed up on, remained with you long long time, because first chance you got a black LE and instantly felt better, even relieved. I know because i got rid of my RS and got 2020 SS and felt great, instantly satisfied . Never buy a car based on just color .. yes transformer cars are nice, but if you recall movie.. bumble bee was not a V6, so waiting for the color as a V8 is better.. or simply find a new color like your black 1LE...which is beautiful ... and congrats. Glad you finally got what you really wanted. Sorry this response is late.

Glad you bought the right car for you. Personally, I just bought a 2014 Camaro 2SS RS 1LE, and I couldn't be happier. In fact, it looks a lot like the one you decided against. The one I bought is cammed, has long tube headers, lifters, a cold air intake, and a corsa quad exhaust. Thing is *mean*. I'm glad you are very happy with your car. I've had both, the v6 Camaro is a respectable vehicle and I'd put it up against a v8 Challenger and a GT from the same year, and even if you don't beat them off the line, you'll be in a much more maneuverable vehicle. People think money grows on trees, I got my v6 first and it was bare-bones and only paid $18k brand new, fell in love after that.

I got the v6 and I am very happy with my choice.The reasons for me: the most beatiful car I have ever seen was that v6 lt White ; is a lighter car and better for my city/state roads; it is really powerfull,it has more power than every national brazilian car,so I dominate the streets here!!!; the fuel consuption is really good,and I use to the get to my work everyday,and a v8 would be a bad choice; the v6 accepts 87octanes (BR petrol) better than the v8 (high octanes and high price fuel). I will never trade it!!! love my v6 camaro

A little over a week ago, I got a Riverside Blue 2019 camaro SS 6 speed. I Saved good for Labor Day and free extended warranty. I’m In love with this car. Get what you love dude! At least you can rev out almost legally on streets. Plus the color you love, nice. Quite a bit. If you grandpa the v6 you can get around 26mpg.....i however, only get around 18 because i drive it like a camaro.

Great video. I bought a Hot Red 2015 RS after looking at both that and the SS. Both cars were identical. I drive mostly in the city so I could not see spending the extra 10 k for the. V8. Have loved this car every since. Oh by the way have owned 2 Z28 in the past this is my first 6 cylinder camaro and this is by far my favorite. Keep up the great videos.

Good for you. I too bought myself a V6 Camaro RS. Though I've been told I should buy the SS instead, my answer has been 'because the V6 is all the power I need.' With my budget, I can either buy a strip down version of an SS or the new LT1, or I can buy a fully loaded 2LT. So for well under 30k, I will soon be taking delivery of Camaro that has cooling and heating leather seats, sunroof, and the Bose sound system. And the funny thing about it is it outperforms the Z-28s from previous generations. And so if a 215 hp IROC-Z of the 80s was good enough back then, a 335 hp V6 is good enough now.

All I am saying is a brand new car is the worst investment aperson could make unless it's a very rare car, say maybe the copo. For instance I was on craigslist the other day and saw a 2010 camaro ss with 69000 some miles For 13000 obo. Look at the depreciation it's horrible. But I would rather buy this used one with the v8 and have it painted just like i want it, put the wheels I want on it and put twin turbos, change exhaust etc. and have a way better car than a new one and something that will eat a brand new camaro with the supercharger and the hellcat. And have what I really want not just making payments. I own a 1968 nova original California car totally rust free body , 489 bbc all kinds of goodies. Car is worth more than I have in it. Guy dumped around 36000 in the car, i bought it for 20000 and finished the little bit that it needed. That's what I am talking about. Most of us as humans see something and we have no patience to wait, we just make those payments. Not me I have learned my lesson. I let others take the first hit to keep up with the jones then I buy smart. I very rarely buy anything that i can't at least get my money back on or make a profit if I don't need or want it anymore.

I’ve had it for just over a year now and I’m gonna have to say there are not many better daily drivers on the road. I want to warn everyone if you get a transmission fluid leak near the rear main seal you probably need a new torque converter that’s what I just did about a month ago it’s like a whole different car now. Everything is better, if you’re going to purchase a fifth GEN V6 Camaro put up at least $1600 anticipate replacing the torque converter it’s a very common problem 💫

My brother just bought a 2014 and drove the SS with the V8 and ended up buying the 2014 V6 RS. He just could not tell enough difference and in fact the V6 felt more impressive for whatever reason on takeoff. Have to use premium gas in the V8 which is a negative and it was 10k more but after thinking about it logical no way that it was worth that much more. I saw the 4 cylinders and they still have like 275 horses, the V6 2014 has 323 horsepower so for comparison the 35th anniversary 5.7 liter SS convertible my dad bought new in 2002 had 345 hp. He had a 95 SS camaro and back then the 5.7 was at 275 hp. I love your car great video and glad you love it. Be safe. I always like yellow best because it's so easy to spot them making them safer.

I agree with the poster. I could have bought anything but when I came across the 2014 Challenger 100th Anniversary it had everything I wanted. Except it was a six. Seeing as I am 47 and had done the street/track thing with a blown and juiced stang. So although a hemi would have been fun..the six makes me feel better with gas mileage. I would love to get my hands on the 4 cylinder turbo Camaro - just so I can say ‘turbo’. Whether its a stang, challenger or camaro kids....thank your lucky stars you didnt have to endure the 80’s with anemic 150-235hp ‘performance’ cars. What we have now is a golden age of performance cars to choose from. Who’d a thought.

You made the right choice! I went with a V6 RS drop-top. I have not been dissapointed, and I NEVER gave a crap about getting a V8. I love the gas mileage I get with this car, and I've driven almost 600miles on a single tank of gas. I have taken my car all over the country, and I love this car!

i bought a v6 over a v8 because the fuel economy. 8.5 litres per 100km versus a v8 which would be 13 litres per 100km. I know guys who have v8s and they sit at home more because they cannot afford to run it.....

We bought a new ( 2017 ) 2 LT Camaro Convertible with the 3.6 and is fast enough for us. Only ,less then a second slower then the 6.2 from 0-60! We love it and had traded our 23,000 mile 3-LT C-5 Corvette Convertible.
