Me too. I heard original today on radio & original didn't do as good as Dan, he couldn't hold the screams & growls like Dan did. I had to listen to Dan's after that. Awesome!!!

I LOVE that you watch the whole video from start to end before commenting. This song has so many layers, and Dan covers them all. He has a phenomenal control of his pitch no matter what he does, and that last note, when he brings in the overtones in the distortion - not something you hear very often with that level of control. This is true vocal mastery.

Great stuff! Quick comment on your repeated mention around actually paying attention to the lyrics… we, Brazilians, do pronounce every single letter, consonants and vowels, in our native Brazilian Portuguese language in a very neutral way. So taking aside the fact Dan really nails it with his amazing vocals and ridiculous versions of originals songs, transforming them many times into something not only different, but better in many ways, the fact you do understand the lyrics would come from his origins as well.

I've become obsessed and have yet to find a cover he doesn't just OWN. I was even dumbfounded at his cover of Africa (Toto). Dude can literally sing anything, and I've noticed in every song there will be like one note that is so epically perfect I'm stunned for a minute. He has resparked a love of music that had gone really dormant in me for a long time. I'm glad you are enjoying him too because I love watching your reactions :)

His male version songs are awesome...i wish he would implement those growls a little more often there's only a few song where he does that....stand my ground, northwest passage (dedicated song), battle hymn,black wind fire and steel, heart of steel, nemo,dawn over a new world, basically all of them almost all of his songs are positive songs though his slower more melancholy songs are great too lost in paradise, lithium, and gethsemane is probably his best performance "acting"
