"Meaningless" by Pain of Salvation -- First time reaction!

No girl member (actually, not once in their nearly 30-year history have they had a female member). That's Ragnar Zolberg, he's Icelandic...and yes, he's pretty, for a guy (but having been to Iceland, I can confirm that they have a lot of pretty men up there)...plus, he has a super-powerful and crisp head voice (in those higher octaves), which does go really well with the other singer (lead vocalist and principal songwriter Daniel Gildenlöw). Ragnar was only in the band for this one album, *but what an album* (the song I requested, _On a Tuesday_ is from the same album, and it hits just as hard - also, Ragnar has a prominent vocal part in the second half of that song as well). The synthesized-sounding section that opens _Meaningless_ (and continues as a theme throughout it) _is actually Ragnar's singing voice, sampled and with some effects added on._ Great reaction, glad you seem to vibe with this band. They keep you guessing every time they release a new album, but despite their creativity leading them down many different stylistic paths, somehow they always sound like Pain of Salvation.

Yeah it took me awhile before I realized that was not a woman singing... Ragnars vocals always seem to be high, and yeah fair looks. At least he is sporting a beard in their Leipzig concert kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6uVqpeim6pnrdE

I would not pick this song especially, but i'm happy you did PoS. I love this band so much. Be aware, not only music is amazing but they go deep with their lyrics. Food for thought, all based on reality. Thank you for this.

You say you got where they went wish this song! But you are wrong, because they get back to this in the last song of the album, where the protagonist actually recalls him being unfaithful... but it such a strong call back of regret that it brings tears to your eyes!
