I watched it with my best mate on heavy rotation. And we learned so many phrases that in our first pub visit in London we mingled perfectly and nobody believed that we were two bloody germans. We even found the whole in the fence (can’t get through) near Bryant Court.

The first Mike Leigh film I really got into. So incredibly real and the most brilliant character acting & dialogue. When I was at school me and my best mate knew virtually the whole script, seen it that many times 😂

He's wonderful is Mike Leigh, you know you just get on with it and make the film and all this explaining and iver pontificating is with all due respect, missing the theatrucity and art and craft of the film.
