Anthony after watching you for a few years and going through all the fussing rat and raging cussing you have done it is pleasing very pleasing to see you put your heart into something to try your best to get it right. I don't know you but I'm with you and my fingers crossed that this is one of the best builds you ever done. And no comebacks on this one ever. Unless you're doing an oil change. also your partner your wife is one of the best helper you could have ever had. To the both of you kudos.

I had worked on this early 03 truck a while ago that was studded years ago and had had (for various different jobs/reasons) the heads off (studs undone out in and retorqued) 4 or 5 times. when I finally got to it (other people/shops did all the previous work) my boss said he wanted to use new studs for piece of mind, But u saved the old ones and later called arp and got the specs and measured them all. They were all in spec with even less variation than those. Pretty neat to think about, especially since they aren’t even the CA625+ versions. Thanks for another great video, stay safe guys!

Good info,, I couldn't get any actual specs on the length. At least not a definite enough number they are manufactured to. Three different batches are what these studs seem to be..

@@AnthonyYoungbloodyea I hear you, they don’t seem to be regarded as extremely close tolerances on lengths as far as ARP says. If you want I can dig through my books/ files and see if I can come up with the numbers they gave me, if you wanted.

Seems like you are putting in long days when it becomes dark outside in July. However you don't seem tired. You give off a happy and relaxed vibe. You must know this particular 6.0 like a mother knows her first born.

AvE has a great video on bolts and TTY. Personally unless they are physically damaged or just plain cheap I reuse them.

The European stuff uses aluminum bolts which are a while different story

Always used head bolts over again in the old 6.2 Chevy's. Nobody cared back then and I'm sure they got used more than once on some engines. Old 5.7 olds diesels there was a cat deadbolt that some guys used on them.

A tty fastener is much cheaper right?? I sure hope so. Common sense says when I tighten a bolt,, it should be strong enough to not yield during it's life if tightened properly, no matter how many pressure cycles its subjected to??? However, since we have those tty fasteners,, it allows us to debate... lol

I firmly believe that the ones that push orings,, struggle with deck prep. Would you all agree we have done our fair share of head gaskets?? I do not have a need for it. At least I haven't in the last 15 years... lol However,, if I start losing gaskets,, I would get desperate too. The problem is,, nobody uses an actual hoop. A complete circle... How can having a GAP in the wire be good for a long term rig?? These combustion gasses will leak from thousands in normal operation,, let alone if we give the border wall a freakin gate!!!! lol

In theroy as long as they hold their torque shouldnt matter if they are MM differences. The longer ones I use on the outs of the head.

Still wonder who’s bright idea it was at to run a head bolt thru a rocker box then thru the head and torque 2 separate pieces of metal together to the engine with only 4 bolts per cylinder !!Surely they could have came up with some better configuration 😂

Think they would be cheaper from ARP if they were short?
