You could have found this issue with an oscilloscope. Scanner Danner has a book. He also has videos that follow along with the book on how to find issues like the crankshaft reluctor. Cam crank correlation. Once you have known good of that engine you can compare the timing. It would have shown that chip in the tone ring. Its so much more than that though.

I had worked on this early 03 truck a while ago that was studded years ago and had had (for various different jobs/reasons) the heads off (studs undone out in and retorqued) 4 or 5 times. when I finally got to it (other people/shops did all the previous work) my boss said he wanted to use new studs for piece of mind, But u saved the old ones and later called arp and got the specs and measured them all. They were all in spec with even less variation than those. Pretty neat to think about, especially since they aren’t even the CA625+ versions. Thanks for another great video, stay safe guys!

6.0’s and o-rings.😩🤯🤬😱😵‍💫 That was some very efficient step by step diagnosis and process of elimination to find WHICH o-ring. That is a sweet IPR valve compressed air rig you have. You have the right attitude and the patience of a saint to work on these trucks. Your video was only 23:51 including highway test driving but the amount of careful wrenching to eliminate the standpipe as the problem and get into the HPOP and then button her all back up was a lot of time.

It’s time to write this truck off lol. But replacing a tone ring and not the whole crank is a big ford 6.0 conspiracy theory. If you have to come through tenneseee I’ve got a 6.0 mystery hpo situation. Runs. Just long crank and needs a cooler. Been wanting you do fix it for 3 years. It runs drives starts but for the life of me can’t find the leak short of replacing everything and rebuilding at that point

Bro I seriously want to cry for you. This is so the life of a mechanic. Remember when we talked about not doing everything over again because the chances of everything going back together with no new problems is so high. Well I’m grateful that you’re showing everyone what we go through so maybe they might be a little more patient and understanding when we are struggling. You are top 10 talented in the powerstroke world, your commitment to excellence is like no one else and is so respected and commendable. You sir will go down as one of the greats. .

What a bleepin' roller coaster ride, spun belt to boot, give it back before something else gives out, just kidding Ron, lol. Put some tires on it and drive it back. Kudos to you both. Nothing you did caused the signal malfunction. Are you going to follow through confronting the machine shop error? One would think the shop knew about the scrubbed tooth and would have brought it to your attention after balancing. You know your 6.0 Diag skills (and wrenching) are invaluable to the 6.0 community. Don't let this ordeal get the best of you guys. All issues were dealt with and are behind you and Ron has a NEW truck. Thanks for sharing your skills and wisdom.

The roller coaster ride of emotions. I totally get it. One time I was in the trenches with mine due to a defective oil pump. Nothing like doing a job twice while chasing down every other possible problem. I was so fed up. Finally I prayed about it and went back to work. Air tested and figured it out pretty quickly. Then got a replacement pump at no charge.

You will get it! The best part of being in the trenches is knowing you will get out! As usual for those that do not do this for a living, your videos cannot capture the shear amount of time tied up in this and that is one of the biggest feelings of loss. I mostly work on equipment now, but there was a bobcat a few years ago that almost got burnt to the ground while trying to figure out the leaks in the hydraulic system...it would never end. I finally got it and it is digging dirt again leaving me alone. Ron's truck will soon enough being doing Ron stuff again too leaving you and Juile alone ✊️💯✊️

I got the "aries" pressure bleeder adapter kit from amazon. I think whole setup was uner 300 bucks. I had a ford fusion come in with rusted brake line. I flare and union it. It was left front. I coul dnever get brake pressure on LF or RR. I put a master cylinder on it and no brakes on RF and LR. I was like WTF. So I ended up buying the "pressure bleeder adapter kit and bled brakes and they all worked. Those spaghetti mess of lines are hard to bleed. I replace master cylinders and do not bench bleed them in any way. Just bolt em up and then crack bleeders at calipers and 1 man flush in 15 miniutes.

Very hard to have consistent results trying to push that air thru the abs system all the way to the caliper tho. I have been searching for the fastest, most reliable way to ALWAYS have them good. I never even saw those bleeder lines in the north shop. We had to move so we can find them!!! lol

Hallelujah! Sweet sounding truck with lots of power. Is the hardest part of being a 6.0 mechanic the waiting for the high oil pressure to build post overhaul? Cranking, cranking, cranking.😩 27:58 SHOCKER!…….. “Maybe we’re being punished…” You are definitely being tested psychologically, never mind mechanically. Is the 6.0 like a thoroughbred horse, incredible high performance but with crazy fragility? It goes from Triple Crown Winner to glue factory candidate in the blink of an eye.
