In my case it's got to do something with junior school. If you are actually serious about biking this is the kind of fitting you want. Small bodily imbalances can lead to chronic pain and injuries. Compensating for them from the beginning like this will prevent that and allow maximum comfort/power transfer

Most of the measurements shown are absolutely useless. You get on a bike, you ride it for 10 minutes, and you adjust the seat height to what feels comfortable. The proportion of your upper leg to total leg length doesn't matter. The width of your hand doesn't matter. If your right shoulder is 10 mm lower than your left shoulder when standing doesn't matter. There is no way to "compensate" for any of that on most bikes that are commercially available. Unless you're a pro rider having the entire frame and sub-assemblies built just for you, none of those measurements matter. And even pro riders just adjust the bike to what feels comfortable for them; no measurement can predict exactly what feels most comfortable for an individual.

I work in a bike shop. 3/4 of these are great to have if you are a top shelf professional rider. 4'11" to 5'3" is xs 5'3" to 5'7" is sm 5'6" to 5'10" is md 5'10" to 6'1" is lg Over 6'1" is xl 6'4" plus would do best on an XXL frame which are rare but do exist These are approximate and vary slightly by manufacturer. If you are "on the cusp" with long legs, get the larger size. Knowing how long your thigh is compared to the leg itself is a essentially useless information for 98% of riders.
