The legendary televised performance "The History of Meat Loaf", was recorded on November 26th 1993 at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, Florida. This performance took place at the genesis of the Everything Louder World Tour, that would see the so-called "return" of Meat Loaf to the masses, performing in Europe and The Americas every month from October 1993 - December 1994, promoting the unforgettable Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell.
I'm very touched by the many tributes to the late Meat Loaf in the comments of this video, and by all means keep them coming. This performance highlights the undeniable strength of Meat Loaf both vocally and physically onstage during the middle of his vocal peak from around 1987 - 1999. As well as the many tributes to the late Jim Steinman, the ingenious writer behind this song, whose legacy will be shared also forever on this channel. As always, rest in peace to the Wagnerian epic Jim Steinman (1947--2021), and the larger than life Meat Loaf (1947-2022).
You'll be aware I've taken many of my older videos down due to a lack of quality or inconsistency but I can assure you all I've seen that this performance in this quality is far too treasured to take down, a restored version of this performance will eventually come but until then, keep enjoying this incredible part of the 74 year long Meat Loaf legacy! Thanks for watching - Jack.
Lead Vocals - Meat Loaf [RIP]
Lead Vocals, Percussion - Patti Russo
Lead Guitar, Vocals - Pat Thrall
Guitar, Keyboards, Piano, Vocals - Kasim Sulton
Bass, Vocals - Steve Buslowe
Drums - John Miceli
Piano, Keyboards, Vocals - Mark Alexander

If you can answer question, do you have meatloaf letterman performances 1993 1994. Afraid they will disappear. I Start day with M.L. Love him forever. FYI these videos help me find meaning to M. L. Songs after years of blasting them in car not always catching words. I despise criticism of him. I have long term marriage to one just like him (not musical, but otherwise) wouldn’t trade him for a billionaire. And we “ain’t” young, so older videos really takes me back. Every video interview you can find, pls. Thanks again,

@@jakeandhenryvideos actually this live version is being played in C major if you listen/see carefully. The original recording is 2 semitones higher in D major in case you don't know. Therefore that argument is not valid since Guns used the same key on the live and recording versions. (Axl's piano was always tuned a semitone down).

My teenage years were full of his music, from working at a summer camp (first real girlfriend) to every break up to the next new love. The day I got my license and drove my Trans Am until the sun came up! .98 cents a gallon gas and $1.25 Marlborough lights blasting his earlier albums out of my pioneer tape deck with the T tops off!! Now I am 51 and the music brings me back to those days. The day I left for boot camp to my 1st deployment to the Gulf in 1991 to the day I got out of the Army in 2006. Thanks Meat for all those soundtracks to my life and sharing this with my 15 year old daughter who loves his music too.

MLBFCollection it shows that he genuinely does it for the music, I’ve always thought of him as an insanely talented Peterson, I’ve just come to love him more as I’ve gotten older, he was really big back when I was a child and probably before I was even born. Such a shame the original singer never was live with him, this is just a model.

brentyboii buckland Lorraine didn’t want to perform live with him, she specifically signed a contract making her the guide vocal for the album, originally Amy Goff was to do the female part on the record but due to a tight schedule and her not fitting the part, they used Lorraines guide vocal as the final vocal, she performed one rehearsal with him in 1992, but that’s about it, here is Patti Russo, his female vocalist from 1993-2006, 2007-2013, she got stronger over the years and her 2000’s performances with him are incredible. Unless miraculously that rehearsal that probably wasn’t recorded comes out, I doubt you’ll ever hear it live with they two.

For me, back then I just liked the girl in the music video. But in 2020, as a 37 year old man with the same woman for 15 years, I now understand the song.

Such an amazing song. The final accusation that’d he’d eventually cheat, and Meat’s reaction... I almost forget it’s an act in a play. She sounds and looks convinced of this “truth”. He sings his rebuttal with such authenticity, passion, and conviction. A masterpiece
