Fun Fact: White Castle burger sliders are made exactly as described in the beginning of the video - they buy the 50%/50% "plate" and the 90%/10% "shank" and grind them themselves and mix them up and make their own White Castle Slider "mix" - from huge-ass pieces of the "carcass" ... and as everyone knows, White Castle Burgers are motherfreaking awesome.

Theres different qualities, the worst is always frozen and ready cooked in packaging that you can't see through, often says on the packaging the meat is mechanically removed from the bone (in giant steam tumblers usually) and often has chips of bone and gristle in, its also used in cheap ready meal lasagnes, chilli's etc.. If it's not frozen and in clear packaging it's usually propper hand cut trimmings from when the butchers prepare the more expensive cuts of beef, produced as explained in the video.

This is an old post, there are social media videos claiming ground beef is trimmings from all different animals is a myth. I actually worked in a butcher shop in a retail store where I actually ground a whole part of one animal packaged as a flank beef. They were labeled lean or the other fatty ones medium. etc.

my concern is that I am not supposed to eat certain fats “Chelev refers to the outer layer of fat called suet. The prohibited chelev is the abdominal fat on the stomach, kidney, and flank. It can be peeled away like a skin” Are any of these fats added to ground beef? I also can’t eat pork, is ground beef processed on the same equipment as pork?
@erintubb98603 жыл бұрын
Commercial slaughter houses only deal with one species of animal. Cattle slaughter houses only do cattle. Pig slaughter houses only do pigs. It takes different equipment for each species. The only places that do more than one species is small lockers/meat shops that only do a couple of animals a day, not the hundreds to thousands a day that commercial plants do.

He stated meat is only good for 1 day in the refrigerator is a lie, and also saying if its not vacuum sealed it doesn't freeze well another lie. You can break down a 10lb block of beef and put them in sandwich bags and just try to get as much air as possible and it will store well for months.

There's no such thing as unhealthy foods. There's only diversity of nutrients and portion control. If you eat a whole bucket of KFC chicken, you've probably consumed enough energy to last you a couple days in one sitting. And just because you bought the seasoned and prepared poultry at KFC instead of your local deli, does not mean it came from the fictional city, dirty El Greco in Mexico, with a malnourished meat industry rampant in e coli and salmonella bacteria.
