This powerful CC type diesel engine, designed as 060 DB, was among the very first modern diesel engines built for the SNCF as work horses for mixed traffic on non electrified main lines . They were active mainly in the South West of France, and could be seen between Nantes and La Rochelle, Saintes, Le Croisic, etc.

Thanks for the additional background, I actually stumbled on a video about the change from steam to diesel in France, and really liked this loco so much that I first bought a newer digital version from Mistral: www.youtube.com/@tomsmaerklintrainlayout6742/search?query=Mistral%20SNCF%20CC65017%20. When I saw the vintage version, I had to have it and am glad I bought it as it is really a great model.
