Mechabellum - We Got Problems!

I'm drn and this is our second game in this week's tournament, here we face Zekk Vadith. Thing's go smoothly until... well wait and see!

Real nailbiter of a game, absolutely lovely! Though I feel for Zekk Vadith; anti missile on the war factories and things might have turned out differently.

Yeah, I really hope it wasn't a miss click! That would be devastating, I know how bad I felt clicking on Underground Threat instead of the Armor item so can only imagine how tough it'd be for something that big at the end of such a close game.

Love your calm attitude :D As you usually ask for pointers on ideas to improve (when you haven't already spoken on them yourself): You saw your wraiths getting destroyed by the snipers, could you have sold them for cash to get an upgrade/a more impactful unit?

Yep, for sure could have and probably should have sold at least the smaller ones who were dying to a single sniper bullet and turned them into tech for our MPs like Crawler summoning. Would've made the game easier for sure!

Honestly for me the two level 5 fangs is always an instant pick because range+shields on them gives em soook much value against everything minus fire storm

Fair enough, will admit I often overlook high level "chaff" units! Had bad experiences with them donating levels to carry Arclights as experience piñatas haha. Will have to experiment with them a bit more!

@@Drone_101had the same issue I learned that well placed "tank" units with low range support them quite well eg fort with rapid fire or sledge's without range upgrade.

Love the video's! A small tip: the 2 Vulcans you place first (with Incendiary Bomb) are very easy counterd with flanking chaff. Then your units run over your own fire. Keep it up!!

Yeah good point, another reason why Range is a safer 1st tech on Vulcans!

Yeah! I really though he had us when the War Factories popped up on my screen, I hadn't even thought about them at all and then suddenly realised "Oh no! We're 100% relying on Vulcan missiles for chaff clear!". Really hope he didn't miss click that final tech, but the icons for Launcher Overload and Missile Defence are fairly similar so it's totally a possibility.

Rather than thinking you'd lost for sure at the war factories, I kinda figured them to be a blunder pick. Your melting points are for "kill big thing" and the factories are nothing if not big. Could well be that I miss the nuance to that play, having never played the game, only watched it

I can see where you're coming from for sure, the immediate panic was that we were relying on the firebomb missiles from the Vulcans to kill the hordes of crawlers he was throwing at us. Warfactories are almost perfect at anti-missile if they've got the upgrade. None of our ground fire would've landed if they'd taken anti-missile - and the hordes of crawlers would've arrived at the Melting Points feet again. Looking back I think they honestly miss clicked thinking Launcher Overload was Anti-Missile Defense because the icons are very similar.

There's also that if a Warfactory makes it through to the end, even on 1 hp, that's a 600 damage swing at his life bar.

@@erikvale3194 Yeah, it's the only unit in the game that does less damage than it costs to player health bars at the end of the round. Will always be a special case I think.

What was the thinking behind putting the Fangs so far back on Round 4? Thought at least one unit would have been placed level/in front of the MPs since your opponent was so far forward and getting his Marksmen onto the MPs so quickly.

You're quite right, a more balanced spread of Fangs would've protected our Melting Points much better and probably pushed the skirmish line further out too. Thanks!

Was mentally screaming at the screen that Healing on MP's would've been useful. If you grabbed the loan before upgrades i think you would've been able to grab the EMP you thought if or healing earlier. But while I think healing would've been good I'm not certain Assault Marksmen have that much health. Also Tech specialist breaks even if you buy three techs due to the alternate of +50gols and there's still the time delay. I think you brought literally two. Can't see the future but +50 would have been worth more.

Yeah you're right lifesteal on the MPs would've been good. Will correct you on one point though sorry, I'm certain I got more than two techs here and tech specialist defo breaks even at 2 techs. Costs you 50g, is a 50g opportunity cost compared to skip, so 100g overall and a cost reduction of 50 from techs. We bought Vulcan Firebombs, MP Range, Wraith Degen Beam, Mustang Range and Fang shields for a total of five techs or 250g saved. It's a pretty safe economic pick and very close to a must pick early on to me. Thanks for the input though, have a great day and do let me know if there's anything else that'd be an massive win like MP lifesteal would've been!

I think for video improvement to grow the channel. Adding in a description of the unit you're using somewhere non-obscuring and showing what its called and key stats to help people like me who never played the game. Would make it even more interesting to watch imo.

@@Wub-rv9xx Haha, that's what I was telling myself! It is really hard to know what impact Degen beam has, particularly on things like underground Crawlers. The way the game handles debuffs they're very powerful as they always apply fully as a multiplicative stat reduction. Still think selling the Wraith that was dying instantly would've been the right play here in truth though!

@@Drone_101it's much clearer value against close-range/melee enemies, but tbh I'm just happy we got to see two of my favorite upgrades in the same fight. tho I vaguely recall fire was an issue for me even with assault sniper, or maybe it was acid crawlers?
