MechMat Lab: Tensile Testing of an Aluminum Sample - Data Collection and Processing

This video describes the use of a PASCO ME-8236 Materials Testing Machine to perform a tensile test on an aluminum sample. We also demonstrate how to plot stress-strain curves from the collected data and estimate the elastic modulus, the modulus of resilience, the modulus of toughness, the yield strength, and the ultimate tensile strength using a custom Colab-IPython script.
