Wasn't really a review, just sharing some play time with it. I enjoy it, it's of course a slow assault mech that doesn't turn/toso twist very well. However, if you want to be able to take some hits and pack a punch while looking kind of cool it does the job.

A piloting tip that I find useful. I group the weapons on the left arm to the left mouse click, the right to the right mouse. It makes remembering which is which a lot easier.

I haven't been using them due to the higher levels of heat and extra weight. Heat management has always been a part of Mechwarrior, but in some cases it's a bit extreme. Very rarely do you see people using Pulse, or PPCs.

SideStrafe logic: Doesn't have any other modules yet. Thinks it's a good idea to be able to see mechs under ECM from far away. Able to make precision shots on weak armor regardless of range.

LRMs (long-range missiles) are primarily used as a suppression weapon. If you or your team mates can hold a lock for enough time, they can be devastating. Getting kills isn't that important, but assisting your team so you achieve victory is.

You need to achieve and maintain lock until the missiles impact their target. LRMs hard max range is 1000m, hard minimum range is 180m. LRMs are optimized for team play, IE a dedicated spotter and a couple LRM mechs. In PuGs you wait for a brawl with your friendies, get locks off their targeting and fire into the melee.

They seem to be more popular in lighter mechs because they deal their damage over a shorter time period than lasers. If you are zooming past a mech at 140 that can be a plus

Hey man, try aiming your shots on one specific component. Arm them if you want to arm them, core them if you want to core them. They will go down much faster than moving your reticle all over their torsos.

For right now, it is ONLY PVP, with only 2 game modes. They have a "testing grounds" where it is you, and only you, on a map with UN-controlled enemy mechs. However, their plans for the future seem to involve more game-modes & such, so PVE maybe, just maybe incorporated, we'll just have to wait & see.

Nope, Uziel isn't in the game, though you never know, they might add it, especially since they pretty much already confirmed Timberwolf's in the future, I'm sure other clan mechs will make it in as well.

He is using the maximum 310 Standard engine, I'd stick with a 300 (1.8m) myself as it is one of the most versatile engines you can have.

6 tons is a lot but the only way "I" would take it out is if I could add 2 more DHS, and on my stalker there really isn't a lot of extra room for heat sinks.

i never sit in front a friendly who is tracked with no cover because i know that they would never do the same for me, unless of course it is a light or fast med that we need to scout for us then i will take a shot for them, only if I'm in a heavy of course.

Hawken is a lot simpler, and the controls are easier, It's basically just an FPS with mechs. This game is more of a "hardcore" mech "simulator". I found Mechwarrior really hard to get into, but Hawken is easy to jump into.

i really doubt that games would end up like that as soon as you start to play, unless you get carried hard by your team over and over. speaking of MWO i need to re install it, i uninstalled it because some file got corrupted some how and i couldn't get back on it, or my computer decided to delete something i needed for the game, like it has thousands of times before for WOT Warthunder ETC

No. If you're out, you're out. ACs should be used conservatively. Only fire when you have a good shot.

once you get the better censores it's not that bad. I had a good game or two in my Catapault after i got it kitted out. i get alot of assists but the kill every now and then is starting to come out.

I tried this game and found out missiles are pretty useless, because i bult a catapult that could fire 60 at a time and held over 1000. Spammed about 600 missiles ina match not a single kill. Report said i did 12 damage, what makes it worse is people just keeping blinking in and out so the missile can never even hold a lock.

My PC runs this ok now. I have an old AMD 6000+ duel core, 6Gig ram, ATi 4650 1Gb graphics card. If your system is similar it will be ok.

I tried upgrading the heatsink on one of my mechs and when I tried playing it gave me a prompt saying it needed a heat sink in order to go into matchmaking. I tried to fix it. To no avail. No more mechwarrior for me.

it is better cause although hawken is quite nc and fun it has issues with the balance of the levels u can get a lvl into a match with lvl 20 and then after the battle ends and the start of the next the MM seems not to really make a good spread and propably it will put at least 2 mech's which where on the same team the previous battle into same at the next one and imagine if they are lvl 20 both they will devastate the game once again

I've been running a misery with 2largeL 3medL 1ac5 and srm6 does decent I've gotten an average of 500+ dmg on a good match with teamwork

well, this shows you how old and foggy-headed and out of it I am: I don't even know what a clan mech is, though I've heard the phrase..... that old title I used to play (and love) was MechWarrior 4 and Black Knight (?) Expansion. Uziel was definitely my favorite, now that I've had time to remember. the heavies/ Atlas/ were kind of fun late game but slow and dumb. is there anywhere to download MechWarrior 4? couldn't find it on Steam

4 tons AC20 seem to be enough for me. Save yourself 2 tons SideStrafe, I don't think you really need all 6 tons of AC20 ammo.

I've been enjoying MWO despite the mediocre review scores it's been getting. I think this game could be really great if they add a lot more maps, faction warfare functionality, and some type of mech progression system within a reasonable amount of time.

Side... I know you don't wanna die, and i mean who does? But you play a little too passive. In WoT and this too now. I guess there's other more aggressive gameplays out there, but honestly, if you walk forward 10 steps it's more aggressive then you haha :p. It'd be nice to see Side enlarge his "set" so to speak, and go out for some killin'.

***** Patience wins, no doubt about it. My only problem was he wasn't even hit the last game, got two vulture kills and did very little damage for an assault. I guess you can say his team was good enough that they didn't really need SS to do much more... But come on, you're in an assault, get your ass on the front lines just a little bit. And what Smithy said wasn't off base - "You play a little too passive." He's right, SS plays a bit too passive.

No sane person that played chrome hounds wanted to play that game again. AC is WAY better in that timeframe.
