I would love to play some games with you and your friends side. You guys GET IT, teamwork, being in a support role. Whatever it takes to win as a team, not shine as an individual. To me there is nothing more rewarding in gaming than playing with a team oriented group, working smoothly together, and accomplishing the task. Maybe that is just my military background imprinted on me but I hate solo players in multiplayer games.

As for the AC2 setup I just prefer the double punch as the rate of fire is fast enough to terrorize your target anyway. I feel it's easier to maintain your lead as well vs having to worry about leading both guns at different times. Just personal preference, I'm sure it could work both ways.

I've had a few of the Armored Core games, but back then the multiplayer was very limited.

Well they have had 2K/4K res support it was just called "Original". I don't have a display or capture card capable of anything beyond 1080p currently otherwise I'd support it.

Now if only the game had an OFFLINE MODE and the developers program some A.I. bots to let people practice or play the game if their Net connection is shitty. Maybe if we finally had a Mechwarrior 5 or something. I want another Merc style game damn it!

I'd love a story. In all honesty if they had just reskinned MW3 I would've bought it. The salvaging system and the mech customization system were amazing

jmiktutt MW3 doesn't like Windows XP. I seem to remember it plays great on 95/98 and possibly 2000. But I'm sure it breaks with anything after Windows XP SP1.

It is free to play. The only thing you need to pay for are more slots in your garage for more mechs, and paint, neither of which you need to have. The rest you can get for in-game credits called C-bills. FYI, always get Endo Steel and Double Heat sinks for your upgrades. XL (extra light) engines are also nice, but you can die faster with them as they double the size of your engine making it easier to destroy.

It's the "Advanced Zoom Module" that you can purchase for 2 mil CBills in the mech lab under the "modules" tab. You can equip it on any mech.

Sidestrafe theres an Option that allows you to aim kind of like ARMA with a deazone so you can move the cursor around without turning instantly, (Not having the crosshairs locked to the center of the screen) it gives you more agility when aiming.

It would be nice if things worked like that, but people would still just grind away until they got what they want. They are looking at adding tonnage limits though so we shouldn't see too many of one weight class.

which is why MW:LL simulates that perfectly. They have enourmous maps, but it is only possible to repair or rearm you mech several KM from the frontline at a main base. Retreating also isn't always the best option, as you may get flanked or otherwise surrounded.

You'd be surprised by how effective they are when you shoot them at the cockpit, they kinda make the other pilot blind since the spam of explosion at his face prevents him from seeing you, a pretty good defensive tactic, i use it all the time to get out of unwinable fights.

The curse of having a variety channel unfortunately. There's usually more good than bad though. :)

chainfiring the AC-2 is possible, but two problems. First they start to generate so much heat that way that it goes into a runaway heat buildup. The 2nd problems is chainfiring AC-2's (which you can do in the game) is no faster than firing a single AC-2, so you are cutting your firepower in half.

Whenever you're wondering that, just check the KZbinr's about section of their channel. Usually that kind of info is there, as it is with SideStrafe. It says he uses a Audio Technica AT2020.

It didn't take long to realise that SideStrafe and his commentary are what's unique here, not the games. Just watch the MWO vids and maybe you'll enjoy them as much as the rest of us.

I loved playing MWO, until my alienware laptop's graphics unit took a poop. It's really cool, because I have no cockpit stuff in the way, but on the other hand I also can't see the enemy unless I've got a lock (I see the redbox only). I like this setup you got going. Nice to hear the battle chatter.

I think so. If nothing else it costs you NOTHING to decide for yourself. I DO highly recommend though that you find either someone else who knows what they're doing to teach you and/or you take time in the training area a lot to figure out how to move/shoot/weapons groups and the like. :)

You know, I can understand that they have Cougars, Black Jacks, Atlases and the classics, but what happened to the Mad Cat Mk 1 or the Bushwacker? Two of the most recognizable mechs in the entire series are missing. I played this during beta as well and I have not noticed them planning on adding either of those mechs any time soon. Another mech I think would be interesting to see would be the Behemoth mk.2.

I don't know too much about the MechWarrior Universe, but I'd love to see some sort of mech that sacrifices weaponry in gain of the ability to perform some basic repairs on friendly mechs. I'd love to play that kind of mech. Also SideStrafe, Wouldn't it be better if you shoot the AC/2's consecutively after eachother? Might be more disorienting for the target you're hitting since it will appear as if he's getting shot at much faster :)

Very good video strafe. I do think though that for your Jager you should be running large lasers, your double guass build is very long range but your medium lasers aren't complimenting them very well. Just my thoughts dude it obviously still worked pretty well for you.

There isn't enough weight that a Jeagermech could have dual Guass and dual Large Lasers at the same. They're just too heavy. The only way to do that would be to have a really tiny engine and walk at a snails pace to get anywhere.

In the universe, a mech self repairing is extremely unheard of. Repairs are done by ground teams & not in hot combat zones. Plus it would probably lead to a new style of really cheap & cheezy gameplay where people would just fire & then run to a corner to heal. Would be very frustrating to some.

At one point in time it was possible, Jagermechs could mount 6 and players would macro to about under .1 sec/ shot level. It was annoying as heck and utterly disorientating and blinding (smoke infront of cockpit, massive FPS drop) It was removed with ghost heat penalties that use a .5 second window to limit alpha-ing with boated weapon. duel AC/2s will trip this of if fired consecutively as their natural RoF is .5 shots per second.

Just went and bought the Boars Head... very interesting Atlas. I still suck at the game, but with each game, I get a bit better. I was on TS with NGNG in A.C.E.S. channel and some of the guys were saying the same as me... game seems rather laggy as of late. I noticed Im getting like 19 FPS when I was getting 30+. Anyway, hope yo Lance up with you one day man.

well that depends a lot on how you pronounce the "aw" in your example because that could be interpreted with a sound like in "course" (discounting the rolled "r" for all our US viewers ;) ) which would be incorrect. The correct pronunciation of Gauss (it is German after-all) is the same as "house" but with a "g" instead of an "h".
