Where was Mike from? Anyone know ?

During the auction they said “Mike died suddenly, had no family” yaddah yaddah yaddah. Who is Mike?? His last name can’t be found on line. All we know is that he made a fortune (we don’t know how) and died suddenly (we don’t know how). Why the secrecy? If he’s dead does HE care?? Probably not. The weirdness of hiding his identity is bizarre.

The hybrid line fell very flat and hard. Writers screwed that one up. Wayne even looked at him like he was an idiot.

1) These cars are way over-restored. 2) Lamborghini Countach and Diablo are not the least bit aerodynamic. 3) The Ford GT doors make the car impossible to enter in tight places and will smack your head if you don’t duck before closing. Cool cars though.
@billstephens90336 ай бұрын
"Over-restored" is purely a subjective term. Go to Pebble Beach and see the restoration level on the cars on the showfield and tell the owners they're "over-restored". Aerodynamics not only refer to air management and low drag coefficients but also the generation of downforce. Steve is absoultely right and why shouldn't he be after a long career as an engineer in Formula 1 and at Ferrari. The Countach has a shape that accentuates downforce via a wedge-shape and the sizeable rear wing. The Diablo is shaped to emphasize a lower level of wind resistance and you'll notice it doesn't have large exterior aero aids to keep it hooked to the ground. Again, Steve's explanation is dead on. The doors on the Ford GT were designed to replicate the original Mark II cars from 1965 and 1966, not to make entrance and exit in tight spots easier. Camilo Pardo took great pains when designing the 2005 and 2006 Ford GT's to remain faithful to the original design. Thanks for your comment.

Why the fake acting and storyline? Did you hire the writers from Storage Wars?

Fully agree with you… the “act” ruins it!

Like Steve and Chris and Wayne. They run on a tight schedule and just need to get a segment shot and edited to drive sales at the auction in August. No Oscars here ;-)

The V-10 they stole from Dodge and the Viper😂😂😂

Actually, it's the other way around. Lamborghini, at the time, was a subsidiary of Chrysler and had extensive experience in the design and manufacturing of V10 engines. Chrysler contracted with Lamborghini to adapt the 8-liter V10, which was originally constructed in cast iron and planned to power the Ram pickups, for use in the Viper.

So staged...little Wayne full of BS the Countach had a 6.5 liter not a 5 liter ive seen all of them at Monterey and ive owned a few of these cars...dont believe Waynes crap you can buy old race cars with engine packages another lie he is telling about the Honda Motors and Ill be back in Monterey this year...
@billstephens90336 ай бұрын
Wayne is correct. The 1989 Lamborghini Countach was powered by a 5.2-Liter V12. That engine debuted in the Countach in 1985. I'm sure Wayne just made a slip of the tongue. Everyone does that. Wayne was right again about the Honda engines not being retained in the cars raced in the IndyCar series once they were sold. Engine technology is furiously guarded by the racing divisions and that's been the story for many years. Honda is especially protective of their race engine architecture. Race cars which are sold with engines included are definitely NOT cars which race in the major big league racing series where millions of dollars are spent on engine development. See you in Monterey.

Wayne was incorrect period and I have owned the anniversary contact and lmoo2 my only regret I should have kept the Lmoo2 the Countach is for Wayne small..while my old diablo was way better see you at quail
@billstephens90336 ай бұрын
@@lutomson3496 Look it up. The Anniversary Countach has a 5.2 liter V12 period. I don't know what engine yours had. We have had dozens of those Lambos cross the Mecum block. The displacement of Countach V-12s gradually increased from 1974 to 1990. Pretty easy to document those increases.
@billstephens90336 ай бұрын
By the way. I see the problem now. You say you had an "anniversary contact". I've never seen one of those.

Love the fact that these cars have low mileage. However, as we know cars are meant to be driven for the car's health. I'm sure Mike maintained this collection with the utmost care while the collection sat comfy & cozy in the garage. #WhenTechsRockAmericaRolls #TechForce #techniciancareers #scholarships
