2020 gave us a Digimon Reboot. 2021 gave us a Shaman King reboot. Please, 2022, give us a Medabots reboot.

It's so weird how much I remember this show, but I couldn't tell you a single thing about it's characters or plots. I just remember the visuals, the robots and the little medallions that they place in them in particular hit a weird memory spot in my brain. Every few years something reminds me of this show, and I can never initially remember the name of the show and I have to search these keywords to finally get it.

I would be ecstatic if Medabots came back, I personally love the first two seasons of show, I’m more eh on season 3. I could definitely see it taking place in the modern era, plus the story itself has a lot of lore and story potential which could be used or reworked in some pretty awesome ways, the ancient civilization and the rare medals for instance or the entire story of Henry/the Phantom Renegade/Medafighter X To some it up, I would be extremely happy if a well done Medabots reboot was made

the original Medabots is one of my favorite childhood shows. the dub was hilarious and incredibly underrated. Got my GF to sit down and watch it with me and she was dying and hooked within a couple episodes.

They should do a movie exactly as he explains it, while add in a "passing of the torch" sub plot in the ending 1/3 of the movie. Sprinkle in a end credit scene setting up the reboot TV show staring the new legacy Bot introduced in the movie and you have a revitalized IP.

Medabots is originally a gaming franchise called Medarot from Natsume who also made the original Harvest Moon games. The Anime's plotline is a adaption of the second Medarot game, and Henry/Phantom Renegade is actually the protagonist of the 1st game.

right you are to further expound, Medabots: Metabee & Rokusho on the GBA are remakes of that second game, utilizing additional features from the third through fifth (and if you check the timeline, they were cranking the series out fast) the first game was recently fan-translated, so if you like classic gameboy RPGs (with Super Gameboy color support) there you go

A very fun game and was very suprised how much of the vibe was kept in the Anime, while Pokemon Anime was basically more so a 'interpretation' that popularized it. Ikki in the game has the same personality as in the Anime and doesnt serve as an avatar for the player. I do wish it had more mechanics for single Medabot battles instead of always having to fight with three. If i had the money i would create a 3d remake, more action rpg mostly based on 1 vs 1 medabot battle (bit like MB infinty on Gamecube) but same plot.

Natsume didn't make Harvest Moon, Marvelous did, in fact Marvelous took the western publishing rights away and gave them to their own subsidary, Xseed to cut the middleman but Natsume held onto the trademark and is pumping out fake Harvest Moon Games while the real Harvest Moon localization, Story of Seasons gets constantly overlooked even by fans.

The original run was a bit before my time but I've been watching through the show and it's one of my favourites of this genre. Medarot/Medabots actually has a lot of similar themes to Shaman King with the underlying discussion about pollution and self-awareness. I'm not sure if that was kept in the dub but the mysticism being combined with AI makes it very thought-provoking yet it still remains a light-hearted and hopeful show. I'd want a reboot in a world where Robattles are more obscure/fringe. Also compared to later shows like this Medabots is very main character focused, I don't mind it but I think having an ensemble like Adventure 2020 would suit the vibe of Medabots.

Hello hello~ Kuura Isagami of the Medarot News Network reporting in! All of your points were very well presented and I full agree with all of them on what Imagineer could do as well as mentioning the rebirth of Shaman King and Digimon. We're definitely in the era of revisiting the old(er) 2000's animes that live rent free in people's heads, and a shocking amount of people still DO remember Medabots/Medarot fondly! In addition to this, they have a LOT of stories they could build off of if they wanted to reboot the series, and with Medarot S out of Mobile now for 2.5yrs, that too is a great way to segway into a possible anime release! In regards to the Trademark dispute you mentioned, while the battle is still ongoing, allow me to present a piece of good news on it. The person who squatted the Trademark to use for his crypto/nft project, Kevin Comadran, has been very hard pressed in recent to showcase anything he promised with his supposed "game". Turns out when he originally sued Imagineer to keep Medabots out of the Western World (this was initially in 2020 with the release of Medarot S: Unlimited Nova on mobile devices), he never even told Imagineer he was suing them, nor did he show up to the case himself and instead had a representative appear for him. When the courts reviewed the case after Imagineer explained their side and lack of information on the initial suit, they reversed their initial ruling on the count that Kevin acted in bad faith. As it stands, I like to believe that the also are in the process of revoking his rights to the Trademark and name (unconfirmed) to give back to Imagineer, but the "game" and coin that Kevin has been trying to promote is in complete shambles. How he still believes he has a case is far beyond my understanding! Progress on the case has been slow, but I've been paying close attention to it and plan to make an update on my own channel pretty soon about it to bring more details into light!

I'm not sure which would be better, a sequel or reboot. IF they did a sequel, they could pull a Optimus Prime and kill off Metabee only to be rebuilt into a brand new top of the line body. I remember the matches and big deal about the medals that was basically their CPU giving them their personality and certain traits.

Imagine Tai buys a medabot and downloads Augumon into a medal. They enter a tournament and fight Ikki and Medabee. Imagine Ikki gets a digivice and it allows him and Metabee enter the digital word where Metabee is a bug type Digimon.

There was this show. It was Gundam Build Fighters. The entirety of the show was making toy gundams and fighting them. What was even better than seeing all the awesome Gundams from all different series in play, was that they would mix and max, custom make parts and custom make gunpla for competing. What makes this amazing is.... THAT'S MEDABOTS!!! That is what meabots could and should be! So I pitch that the Medabots reboot, literally involve custom tweaking their medabots, competeing and perfecting their bots and just going through the whole rising up in the ranks

I could also see them making an Medabots Robattle app like Pokemon Go, with more movement during battles like Disney Mirrorverse, but you collect materials to upgrade your Medabot and getting out and walking would act as training. Here in Brazil this show was something kinda big too, but nowadays it would be bigger because the same voice actor that dubbed Metabee is the guy that dubs Goku from DBZ here and he is one of the most famous voice actors in our country. If the series here promoted with him it could become a huge thing, along side the nostalgia side. Great videos btw.
