When you are ready, you can find a 3 bedroom 2.5 to 3 bath rooms, 1 car garage or carport townhouse from $350 to $450 per month. They can be locate in Retiro, La Ceja, and La Union. But you can find a nice townhouse in Rionegro also but I’m not sure of the prices. The air is very clean and quite. The places in Rio is approximately, 20 to 25 minutes from the airport. If you drive, there is the new expressway that can get you back into Medellín in 30 min. If you don’t drive, you can catch a for approx. 8,000$ pesos. These busses remind me of a Grayhound, and the ride is smooth which is nothing like those hard seats, and bumpy ride you experience in Medellín. When I moved from Poblado to where I’m at now, it cost me 450,000$ pesos because their truck was small and they had to make two trips to my house which was one hour and fifteen min. each time. As always “Para mi,” como siempre tus videos son excelente ( as always your videos are excellent).

That’s the only thing about Colombia...the apartments are too small and basic. I love beautiful architecture, high ceilings and wood floors. But cool! I’d love to get a place like this and put it on AirBnB. One thing about Cuba is the architecture is grand and the ceilings are HIGH. But that country isn’t liveable. 🤷🏽♀️ But thanks for sharing.

Great apartment! In terms of downsizing, I've been doing the same thing. I cannot believe the amount of stuff I've accrued in my condo! This is mainly due to the fact that I love thrift stores. I've also always kept an eye out, on trash pickup days, for any good thing that's been thrown out in my neighborhood. But after a while, the stuff just gets out of control. We have storage cages in the basement but mine got filled up. Finally, the condo association told those of us with stuff outside our storage cages to get rid of it. This was the point where I decided I had to start donating my stuff to the local Goodwill and Salvation Army. Have given away tons of stuff. Even gave up half my collection of fishing rods (you won't believe how many I had). I would say I'm halfway through this whole process. The holiday season is always very busy for me at work. Now that it's basically over, I need to get back to my down-sizing task. I'll be very happy when my condo has that sparse look. And I'd love for my storage cage to be only half full. Anyway, thanks for the video. It inspired me to continue getting rid of my junk.

I have one question that's been the back of my mind for a while now how is the construction quality in Colombia. Do the buildings feel sturdy enough that they'll survive an earthquake? I live in Los Angeles and I know for a fact that we have the strictest building codes in the world here in the LA basin so I know the building I live in is very likely to survive a strong earthquake. But I've noticed in Colombia they seem to use cheap little bricks to build these tall buildings and I'd hate to be trapped inside of one and pancaked the next time the ground shakes.
@CarltonsTravelAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Well I have no idea about the construction codes. I had felt a few earthquakes since I have been here. I guess a big one could happen anywhere including LA or Medellin. When its your time you just stand in line and thank God for the time we had on earth. Cannot worry about it.
@aquiroz6512 жыл бұрын
All South American country’s on the Pacific Ocean including Colombia has strictly protocols for constructions buildings in the big city’s , and the protocols also including evacuation, fire system, tsunami and secure place for stay after earthquake only there are still some old houses with 1 or 2 floors that not have been reinforced with strong concrete.

Carlton, That is a lovely apartment. Was it easier to get this time than the last, and how did you find this one? Also, what were the requirements? Thanks Kate
@CarltonsTravelAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Hello Kate. It was just as difficult as the first one. It was a bear. I got lucky and a subscriber hit me up and referred the spot he vacated in late December. If not for him I was getting worried. Hate to even begin to think about next year. The only hope for next year it the fact that we still might be in a situation where we have a ton of empty apartment due to the quarantine and travel restrictions. Tons of empty apartments now. Great discount now.
@CarltonsTravelAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Luckily the only requirement was paying 6 months in advance. The way it works is that the realtor takes the 6 months payment and give you a receipt for 6 months (separately) then they put the money in the bank and only pay the owner a month at a time and they keep the interest. Not bad. Have to pay again in July for 6 months.

Wzup Ray. I was just lucky. A sub from my channel moved out and told me about it. Just sheer luck. I am already beginning to worry about December when the lease expires. This owner did not require the guarantor, which is the major issue with the gringos. I am hoping that this year with no tourists we will have a lot more options. There must be a lot of empty apartments out there now. Prices should be lower and owners should be more flexible.

@CarltonsTravelAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Well it depends on the exchange rate, which is always moving up and down. At the current rate of approx. $3,300 its about $545 dollars. However, a few weeks ago the rate was at historical low at $3,500 and I got all of my first 6 months rent at that rate to reduce it to about $514 $1,800,000 / $3,500. Who knows where the rate will be when I have to pay the next 6 months in July.

$1,800,000 pesos a month. Plus i will lease my parking space for about $100,000 for final of $1,700,000. I took out all the money i needed to pay the 6 months rent a few weeks ago when the pesos was historical low. I averaged about $3,500 pesos per dollar which means my rent for the first 6 months is under $500 a month.

Hey Carlton what's up my man another great fun video hey brother I know that you stated in another video that you ordered a tripod. But you know I'll give you a little piece of advice that will truly help without you having to spend a lot of money for like $5-$10 dollars you need to buy one of those selfie sticks not because you want to hold the camera far away from you but because when you take the camera off of your hand it reduces the shake tremendously almost to where it's unnoticeable. They're very inexpensive you can buy any selfie stick or any's you know a little handheld cell phone stick. Just buy a cheap one you don't need to spend lots of money or order anything online you know just pick one up wherever you see a cheap one it will literally take your videos to the next level in your videos are so good you're such a good guy I want to make sure that your channel skyrocket past these pedophiles channels that are KZbin

Thanks for the advise. I will definately purchase one. The tripod is for recording interviews only. I was trying to figure out how to improve the shaking video. Never thought about that stick. Thanks. I am no expert at this stuff. As you can see i do not do any fancy editing either.
