I love how when you're playing medic everyone calls for you and constantly keeps moving away from you when you're trying to heal them *like just stand still for one second goddammit*

Eh, that's what the crossbow is for. If you've got one, you'd best practice with it; not only can it heal players at any distance you can see them, but it can even be useful for healing players right next to you quickly because an instant minimum 75 health boost can be a literal lifesaver. Compare that to 75~ health over *three seconds* with the stock medi-gun when a player has taken damage recently. _Yikes._ Also, it can shoot baddies. It's like a Huntsman that can't get headshots but doesn't require charging. It's not bad. And hey, playing battle medic isn't recommended, but playing battle medic _ *in casual* _ is pretty much the best way to learn how to aim it well. If you get to the point where you can peg an enemy who is running perpendicular (or arguably worse, _diagonally_ (*shudder*)) to you from across the map with 90% hit rate, you can also save a teammate's life from across the map with a random bolt of 150 health from nowhere, astonishing allies and frustrating foes as the spearhead of a push heals to full seemingly out of nowhere. And that's why Crusader's Crossbow is meta. Probably. Or maybe it's just the fact that the default syringe gun is kinda ass, so it's "most effective" by sheer virtue of _not_ being terrible.

Well, if you can see a rocket jumping soldier _while_ they're rocket jumping, what you do is aim where they're most likely to land given a quick spur of the moment galaxy brain psychological evaluation and geometry calculation based on context clues (jumping in or out, towards enemies or items or teammates, towards highground or lowground, etc), battlefield layout, enemy placement and direction and speed of travel then fire when they're about 75% (give or take 10% based on distance and your feel for the travel time of a bolt) of the way to the ground so you have a acceptably decent chance of hitting them whether they actually land or rocket jump again. If you're feeling spicy you can make like a sniper and try to hit them while they're at the apex of their jump, instead. That may be easier, if a bit more daunting in sheer concept, if they rocket jumped from somewhere nearby you. The real answer is for the soldier that knows you've got him in your sights to just sit still for a small moment after the jump and let you get that hit in before he runs off, but that's the *hardest* because that requires patience, teamwork and **gasp** _coordination._

Heres my tips from a few weeks of maining medic: Quickfix is the most reliable thing ever - those ubers come so fast you can pop, heal everybody to full and then launch a full blown military assault on the enemy's base before the charge fades, not to mention the immunity to airblast. Blutsauger is best used defensively to finish off weakened opponents who took out your pocket (say you're healing a demo, and he gets a direct hit and a roller (roughly 130DMG) on an enemy soldier before dying, you can easily do the 70DMG to finish his ass off (7 needles) while healing with every shot) and helps when you're on a bad team Crossbow is best used offensively to put damage down range, keep teammates out of the grave and is relatively effective at both The Ubersword (Ubersaw) crits ~80% of the time (not kidding btw, it crits just, always) Cover is your friend Medkits are your backup Heavy is a mobile shield Soldiers and Demos are less reliable than half-a-ply toilet paper due to their explosive jumps

Saying, "Thank you," goes a long way to making them feel appreciated. It may even save your life, since a medic may choose to prioritize you over someone that didn't say thanks.

the way i like to play medic is 1. make sure you give everyone you see a bit if not alot of overheal just to be a team player 2. make sure you always have a power class in sight when ready to uber 3. make sure you always have a power class in sight in general 4. and always watch out for spies and generally any class that can push you around (a little tip as well, if you need to get anywhere fast if theres a scout nearby heal him because your speed will match his speed making it easy to get anywhere fast i like to call this method scout taxi)

i like to play medic like: 1. go for people with low health and heavy and soldier they need it most and can do the most damage 2. never heal spies,im 100% sure the medigun and medic will give their spot away,theyre always either terrible or too skilled anyway, 3. try to block attacks by crouching behind your patient etc 4. heal anyone who needs healing of course, and if anyones calling medic and you can go to them,do it 5. have no idea whats going on due to either lag or source's dumb turning system and completely mess up. but those are just my dumb tips c:

@@stomyed22 ya i hear ya. those are pretty good. i never really crouch behind patients cause i'm not really uber competitive (pun intended) but you do you. also what syringe gun do you use? i run blutsauger not because i'm some battle medic but because of 3 reasons. 1 id be too inaccurate with a crossbow. 2 i like the healing attribute cause it can really help you out sometimes if you don't have a heavy or soldier boyfriend to protect you (example. you could put a few rounds into an enemy whos chasing you as you run to safety) and 3 i just think it looks really cool. also you probably didn't expect a response from a three year old comment or a lengthy one at that c:

If you do not wish to watch this entire video, I would like to put out some basic tips. GREATEST TIP: Go to your advanced options and enable "Medi Gun continues healing without holding down fire button." Your fingers will thank you. 1. Heal at all times.... mostly. 2. Don't be afraid to pocket. This does not mean heal one person for the entire game. If this soldier calls out for a medic because he knows how to win but needs/wants the support, heal him for a bit. The engineer whacking his stuff in the back will be fine for a while. 3. If your pocket is competent, they will be keeping an eye on the uber meter as well. If you're unsure, say something about "Uber when you're ready". They will usually call out MEDIC! when they want the uber. 4. Interpreting medic calls. First off, a lot of people mash the E key just because they can. Some helpful advice. If a player does not have full health, their MEDIC! icon will be a different shade of red. The darker red it is, the more damaged they are. If you are at full charge, the player stops, and calls medic, assume they want you to uber them. If a player is at full health and calls, buff them. In this case, there are two things you can do. If you already have a pocket, go back to them. If this is a power class (or even if it isn't but they seem ready to go into battle) heal them until you find someone else you need to heal. 5. POP, DON'T DROP.

Really enjoyable video to watch. As someone who played medic for over 6 years, the only aspect I ever truly struggled with from start to finish was staying alive. It was rarely putting myself into bad situations after I got the hang of it but my teams just never thought about protecting me. You really have to be selfish when you’re medic. Can’t tell you how many times a scout gets passed my heavy and they didn’t even bother turning around to shoot him.

WOAH, PEOPLE, USE THE Amputator INSTEAD OF THE Ubersaw! Ubersaw is way too overused I do see why; The Amputator is pretty good if you actually use it right. It saves a lot of situations like if your team is pushing the cart you can heal them just pressing m2 with the Amputator. I'm saying it's pretty reliable than the Ubersaw. Your a dispenser with a bigger healing range with the Amputator on. Good luck people, The weapon needs some love.

The amputator takes precious time for you to stand still, taunt, and slowly heal up your teamates in a small radius while a spy could easily backstab you or a sniper to get a cheeky headshot if you're not behind cover. The ubersaw is great for collecting uber faster in some situations the you can heal team mates with... ANY medigun juat as fast as the amputator. Im not saying don't use it, use it if you like it but just take what I said into consideration.

The Amputator is great for buffing your team if they're stuck at a choke point. Standing with your back to the wall and finding a place to jump up onto to stay out of the line of fire will help.

Both are good, honestly. Hell, they're both better than the Bonesaw. Though the Amputator has only a handful of situations where it truly shines and the Ubersaw is good... only when you have an enemy in your face to harvest 25-50% uber off of that MIGHT save your skin if you were just a bit off from 100% when they killed your pocket. The Amputator can save your teammates' lives, the Ubersaw can save yours. Take your pick on which is more important to you and roll with it.
