You have definitely settled in as residents of North Carolina, now that your medical supplies are unpacked and ready for action!! - let’s hope it’s a while before you need to use some of the contents (^•~•^) (...and that the oral antibiotics can do their magic and that you feel relief from that lingering cold soon - you seem to be blessed with a tad more energy today, I hope you don’t crash hard later today!)

If you decide you need more shelves in the closet, there is a new system available at Home Depot that lets you have more shelves at whatever height you need. We had the same shelves you have in your closet in our pantry. The new system, at least new to us, allows you to use the same shelves you have but has different anchors and is a flat bar at the top of the closet, and then you attach 3 or more vertical bars to the wall. You do have to buy new shelf mounts but I have found it works great. We are replacing most of our closets and shelving areas with them.

My inner OCD is so pleased with this video. I used to work in a medical supply room of a nursing facility, so I greatly appreciate your organization and you'll be able to see when you may run low on things etc. Some folks need a walk in closet for clothes, some of us laugh at normal medicine cabinets thinking, one days worth of meds won't fit in there. Thanks for the KZbin shout out of another fun page to follow too. I dream of days when I won't need a closet for my medical paraphernalia. Blessings

I just kept saying "oh my, Mary, oh my" to myself - that closet and very beautifully organized space says a LOT about your health!!!! I just have 2 shelves for my medical supplies. It made my heart ache. I've also been frustrated because I can't remember the last night I got a full night of sleep due to health issues and devices going off and it renewed my thinking to NOT complain - just do what I need to do and ZIP IT with any bemoaning spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You probably didn't know your medical closet tour would be a help to someone's heart and health today did you?! So thankful for you!

Love, love, love!!! Crazy, because I finally got my supplies organized. Like I said in another video, emergency evacuation orders from the most recent fire got my butt in gear. But like you, I’m not sure it’ll stay the way it is. I have everything I use in one corner now, so hearing you talk about the lady (can’t remember her name, but would love it again). I made “daily kits”, where I can grab a bag and it should have everything for the night. But I’m still looking for a few extra tips and tricks. I like the colored baskets, where did you get them? And I was planning on getting a shelf like that, so it was helpful to see it in use. Now to find the cheapest price, but still a decent build. I sooooop love that you have a closet to hide it. There’s something to be said about not making your room or space feel like a hospital. Or at least for me. Though I know a lot of people enjoy keeping it like a hospital, with a little personalization. Looking forward to seeing more videos as you two get settled.

You’ve done a great job in there Mary! Thankfully my stock supplies fit into a drawer in my bedside table (it’s about 2’ square) and all the machines like BP Monitor, spare heat pads and braces are on an IKEA Raskog trolley. If my condition requires any more meds, I have another 2 drawers to move into underneath my stock one and the top drawer is for what I’m using right now. All my tablets in that drawer are stacked in alphabetical order so that Martin can find them easily if I’m too unwell to sort them for myself and, thanks to a sadistic nurse ranking me, my asthma inhalers are kept in a small Tupperware container to stop any spiders from getting into them! xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks for the closet tour, Mary. I have a question that I don't know if you or anyone else may be able to answer regarding the fabulous news of FDA approval of your Vertex medication. The price that I saw announced for it just astounded me and I am heartsick to think of how difficult it will be for most people to afford it, if that is indeed the price anyone would have to pay for it - almost $24,000 for a 28-day pack. Am I missing something here?
@sandrabentley14205 жыл бұрын
I think Mary is on Medicaire so she doesn't have to pay, may be wrong, don't quote me. Or she got some free samples, compassionate use. That's a crazy amount isn't it?
@jacquicoder71605 жыл бұрын
@@sandrabentley1420 Thanks for the response. I wasn't asking about how Mary was paying for it. I doubt it is free to her because of Medicare - there are still copays even with Medicare - but she may be getting it free as compassionate use. I'm just concerned for the many other CF patients who may not be able to afford it. Yes, it is a crazy amount and I do sincerely hope there are options available to help make it affordable. Otherwise, what is the point of it being approved for use?
