I watched your videos before my coding interview and I received a job offer! No coding job experience whatsoever. I took an AAPC class, then the CPC certification. Applied to MANY positions and heard NOTHING for months...Thank you for your help:)

As a newb still in class for coding and billing, I appreciate all of this information. I’ve been given a chance to interview for a position as an assistant since I am on my way to be certified by February. Thanks so much for the run down

What if you're leaving a job totally unrelated to the coding field like retail for example? Is growth opportunity still a good answer? If they ask about getting other certifications and you haven't been in the industry yet, how should you answer that?

I would love to bring the coding books to interviews, but...how? They're so heavy, do you leave them in the car or drag them with you to the interview in a rolling carrier?

I got my CBSC with NHA, but employers are always more interested in employees with AAPC certification why?
@ContempoCoding4 жыл бұрын
NHA is not as widely revered, time-tested or acclaimed. Think of AAPC and AHIMA as the Coke and Pepsi of the medical coding world. If you go into a restaurant, you're going to expect either Coke or Pepsi because it's the standard. You are familiar with them, you know they're good brands. You might not feel the same way about another brand of cola. As a restaurant owner, you feel comfortable providing either Coke or Pepsi to your customers because you're confident the quality is there.

@@ContempoCoding I can see, I which I knew this before, well I already bought the AAPC membership and I'm studying for my CRC certification, do you recommend me this new certification or I have no idea?
@ContempoCoding4 жыл бұрын
@@Euahb I think the CRC is an amazing credential -- there is so much opening up in Risk Adjustment and it really is the way healthcare is moving. Did you take your CBSC due to a partnership with your educational institution? I've noticed a lot of programs offering it lately as included in the school fees, I'm wondering if NHA is giving a discount to online school for their certification.
@Euahb4 жыл бұрын
@@ContempoCoding yes that's right I take my CBSC certification due a partnership with my educational institution which was Ashworth College, the entire program was about 1000$, they included the books for the program, then send us directly to NHA to pass the Exam, NHA provide the appointment for the exam, the digital study guide, and a bank of questions all for free. Thanks for answering

Is words per minute typing have a expected threshold?
@ContempoCoding4 жыл бұрын
There is not an expected threshold. When it comes to coding the focus is usually on how many codes/charts/encounters you can complete in an hour.
