Congrats bro! Just watched your video about the recovery process after your knee injury. Very inspiring. Out of curiosity, when it came to your interviews, were interviewers fixated mainly on your more stand-out extracurriculars in their lines of questioning (i.e. being a D1 athlete), or were they more so fixated on your medicine-related experiences (i.e. your job as a sports medicine clinic research assistant)?

Thank you so much! And great question! Questions related to my application were mostly focused on similarities I shared with my interviewer. Most schools will try to set you up with an interviewer who has similar experiences which makes it very nice. For example, if one of my interviewers was a former athlete, we would talk a lot about that, but if another one has done research similar to mine, we would talk about that. So it really depended on the interviewer. I hope this helps!

Congrats! I definiitely enjoyed when I interviewed at Mayo a few years ago. Definitely one of the most beautiful hospitals I've seen. You'll get a great education there. Would you still have considered Mayo if you had to attend the Scottsdale campus? Does it appear to be any stigma with that new campus and students who go down there for rotations?

Thank you so much! I personally wouldn’t have a problem with the Scottsdale campus and there are some students who choose to go there instead of the Minnesota campus because of the location. And because the curriculums are the same there doesn’t seem to be any stigma against the newer campus.

I would suggest looking at your stats (MCAT and GPA) and find programs that have similar mean stats. Applying to a broad range of schools is usually a good idea and it doesn’t hurt to cast your net wide (applying to Caribbean, DO and MD programs)
