I’ve been planning on retiring near age 70. This week, I learned my I will be laid off this summer, at 67 years old. I need to learn this stuff fast now. Thanks for the honest view I’ve been looking for.

Unless you go to the doctor more than once a month, choose plan N. Get part D, pay dental and vision with an HSA, and avoid networks, preotherizations, and yearly plan changes like you would get with disadvantage plans.

Sounds like a good plan

We never had opportunity to get hsa, only people with $1500 + deductible allowed to get it.

@@lisaveta8565 pay for dental and vision with cash. 300 dollars a year for each. The only time dental insurance makes sense if you need extensive dental work outside of X-ray and twice a year cleanings. Even then it only pays 30 to 50 percent of the cost. Don't choose a disadvantage plan just to get those things. Choosing that is a choice for networks and pre-approvals. Managed care.

My husband is retired and has Medicare HMO advantage via ASRS (Arizona State Retirement System). He plans to switch from HMO to PPO. I am intending on getting Plan G plus D when I am eligible in a few months. He is working hard to persuade me to go with his PPO plan instead. Do you have a video discussing Advantage PPO plans, or a comparison between Advantage PPO and Plan G?

My D plan was $12.20 in 2024, now it is going to $47.40. So I will definitely be changing that plan.

Question.....currently on a UHC plan N. If I move from Arizona to Washington, can I go to UHC Plan G without underwriting because of the move?

My Dad lives in Pennsylvania and is in his early 80's. He has stage 3A chronic kidney disease. Dose he have a chance of passing medical underwriting to get a medigap plan at a decent price?

What is the premium for plan F in 2024. My husband is eligible for this plan. We are leaving employer insurance.

Depends where you live.

I have been on Plan F for 7 years now. My policy goes up 18% every year, which gets bigger every year. I am in West Virginia and pay $252 every month. I tried to switch to a Plan G , at $126 per month, but was turned down because I was diagnosed with RA (expensive). I was healthy when I got on Medicare. BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT YOUR CHOICES when you initially get on Medicare.

With plan G, drug 50c/month. Next year zero per month. Disappointing is. Dental, useless, almost do not cover at all.

Most brokers will push the plan that pays the highest commission. Totally unethical.
