My plan is to die rather than go into a nursing home. My MIL and my grandma were in one, they were just awful. It’s a warehouse for seniors to die in.

Dental, Hearing Aids, podiatry, refraction for eyeglasses. -An eye exam without dilation is not an eye exam. Your retina needs to be checked annually, especially as you get older. Advantage plan sucks. -Hearing aids are very expensive especially with an independent provider. We go to Costco Hearing Center, with free follow ups.

Yes. I agree! I was diagnosed with Sarcoid so my eye exam with an opthomologist was only $50. Cuz Sarcoid can affect every organ in the body including eyes. Hearing aids are thousands. The eye specialist place wanted $1,000 for glasses so I took the Rx to Costco.

Can you tell us how DCE’s will affect our Traditional Medicare in the next year? I don’t want not to have a choice and it seems it is coming to that. I would value a full video on this as it may impact millions. Thanks for being there for us.😢
@MedicareSchool Жыл бұрын
I would not be alarmed if you are aligned with a DCE either voluntarily or based on your past relationship with a doctor who has joined a DCE. Your benefits are secure, and you won’t be locked into an arrangement you don’t like. We will see what becomes of the program, the whole thing may be scrapped.

Something that was not mentioned for "Dental Plans" was they may have a deductable before they pay anything. Also the negotiated rates for Preventive Services may leave you with a liability for the difference.

We have an option with great rates & coverage, low, just $50 deductible, where many plans its over much more. 100% coverage on preventative services. Freedom to visit any dentist. Network dentists charge lower fees so you get more out of the benefits. If you have any questions please, feel free to give us a call at 800-864-8890 or schedule a free appointment here: www.medicareschool.com/talk-to-a-guide?rc

Great video. The C plan that we will have available does not include those extra eye and dental benefits. The plan that I will have available does have eye and dental as an add on at $100 per month for both my wife and I. Pays up to $1K each on dental with preventative at 100%. Eye plan pays $150 per year per person plus the exams. The eye plan is in network, the dental pays in or our of network. I guess that we are fortunate to have both available at such a low cost. Thanks for your videos and information.

We can help you compare that dental add on to a separate dental plan that we recommend with really great rates and coverage that may be a better option for you. We have a 2,500K option, 100% coverage on preventative, freedom to visit any dentist. It also has a vision add on. If you have any questions please, feel free to give us a call at 800-864-8890 or schedule a free appointment here: www.medicareschool.com/talk-to-a-guide?rc

Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) covers podiatrist (foot doctor) foot exams or treatment if you have diabetes-related nerve damage, or need medically necessary treatment for foot injuries or diseases (like hammer toe, bunion deformities, and heel spurs).

Do you have any info on family caretakers getting paid?
@MedicareSchool Жыл бұрын
The SSA does not pay caregivers to take care of their loved ones who are on Social Security disability benefits (SSI or SSDI). You could get paid as a caregiver to take care for a loved one with a disability, though through other programs there are other ways in which you could get paid taking care of a loved one.

So if I need cataract surgery.. medicare will only pay for a monofocal lense, not a premium multifocal lens. But if I choose to pay out of pocket for the premium lens will medicare still cover the rest of the cost?
@MedicareSchool Жыл бұрын
The conventional intraocular lens (IOL) covered by Medicare is typically a monofocal lens. Other advanced lens types, such as a toric lens for astigmatism, Lifestyle Lens (multifocal or accommodating lens, or enVista™ lens may have out-of-pocket expenses.

Those high-quality lenses are expensive. A year ago a friend paid for the best ones $3500 for each eye! They are worth it, if you can afford them.
@vinnyg2619 Жыл бұрын
I'm not on Medicare yet but did have cataract surgery in both eyes a couple years ago. Just my opinion but you don't need fancy IOLs. I had far vision put into both eyes and they work great for almost everything I need to see. I do need glasses for small print and close up work but not much more. I am typing this on a cell phone at about 12 to 15 inches away from my eyes and I can see the screen at about 95-98% clarity. Yes, it's a little blurry but nothing I need to put glasses on for. I personally think the expensive IOLs are a gimmick. BTW, I am not talking about correcting an astigmatism, just normal lens for lens replacement. I have read that the bifocal and trifocal lenses are really bad at night do to haloing, I don't get much of this.
