Honestly never even noticed until you said something, but frankly they did a way better job recycling old content in Med II than future titles. Still can't get over the abomination agents and their cutscenes were in Empire and Napoleon. Mostly because Napoleon's were the same as Empire's.

I'm a Scot and was obviously playing the Scottish campaign on very hard. When I got this announcement, at a very critical point in my war with Norway, I just felt stone cold fear, and got ready for an oncoming storm.

The thing about this event, is that it's kind of different from the William Wallace event for the Scottish. When Edward leaves for the crusade, England becomes much more weaker for a while and it's even a strategy to attack them when The event fires. But when they come back they'll be very strong with excellent quality of troops.

I once played as Wales and by the time this event occured, it was like a joke to me. I had just taken London and the English had like 3 settlements left. I sent two full stacks to Edward and killed him in one battle lol.

I really dislike the arcade fantasy stuff we get these days. Id rather have had Empire II or Victorian Total war instead of Warhammer III One major well done major historical game after dissapointing Troy and 3K.

Total War Pharaoh tanked hard. Total War Troy was given away for free. Thrones of Brittania ( the 1st ever Saga title ) was D.O.A. because of no support from CA. Total War Three Kingdoms shocked everyone when CA abandonded it. Warhammer franchise has done well though. Hyenas ( not a TW title ) was a waste of $100 million. And now CA are facing large layoffs.

Fun fact: when William the Bastard conquered England, they asked to people if they were happy with Edward, the people cheered in screams but Edward not knowing English, he burned the town because he thought they were rebelling Edit: fixed a big mistake
