The Medieval cities of Amersfoort and Gouda were a highlight of our Easter break in Holland and really should be on your list to visit. The medieval Koppelpoort entrance to the old centre is a beautiful reminder of Amersfoort's rich historic past and dates from the 14th Century. We'll take you on a lovely walk around Amersfoort and share many of the lovely streets, canals and attractions.
We'll also travel to Gouda, the world-famous cheese has been weighed and traded here for centuries and also has some impressive buildings, like the Waag Weighing House where every Thursday from spring to Autumn they still reenact the weighing of the Gouda cheese with a horse and cart and traditional costumes.
Travelling around Holland by train is so easy so if you are visiting Amsterdam or Rotterdam, you can get here pretty quickly. We'll share our tips to have a great day out in these two incredible cities.
