Do it, if you have the chance! Those times are some of my most treassured memories - especially since my birthday is in Januray and we would very often celebrate like that (even as kids - sans the Glühwein ofc :D)

I made your recipe this holiday and followed it precisely, only substituting the rock sugar with turbinado cane sugar (sugar in the raw) and chose a merlot. Absolutely wonderful! Thank you for sharing 💚🌲

We made Glühwein using a combination of the two recipes today and it was a huge hit! We finally were able to recreate the flavors we enjoyed when we traveled to Germany. Thank you for this video.

So glad you enjoy it so far! 💕 I do prefer Glühwein too but Glögg is also nice (even though I only like the homemade one, and really can't drink the one they sell here at the supermarket or in IKEA) 😄

@@Thewitchescookery Oh yes, magically crafted Glühwein is definitely the best. I too can't drink the bottled glögg. My father makes his own batch during the holiday season. One of our traditions, probably why I like that too.

Is it bad if I try both? Lol. Might be a bad idea on lockdown as a person living on their own! 😉 Although I could thermos it up and deliver to my friends and we could FaceTime it together. They both sound scrumptious. I think I will focus on the one with less ingredients for this year. Would leftovers store for a day or two in the fridge?

Hehe well, it might lead to a headache the next day but no, it is not bad :D I did try them on individual days though and that already was quite the glwoy experience hehe And I looove the idea with delivering it to your friend for a Glühwein&Zoom session! Enjoy :) And yes, you can store it up to 4 days, I'd say (if it lasts that long that is hihi)

I can reccommend an apple juice cooked with cinnamon and other spices with a shot of good quality calvados (apple spirit). ;)

looooove that idea! I actually just finsihed filming a video of a ¨spiced apple liqueuer¨ that also has cinnamon, apple juice, calvados, amaretto and some other good stuff. I guess it woulkd be similar to that 🤤

I wish i could drink glühwein!! it makes me so sad. I love red wine but i have a sulfer allergy :(

Oh no! can you drink white por rose glühwein? It is not quite the same but it is a decent substitute :D

I love old recipes and went down the hypocras rabbit hole and OMG what a perfect idea! And I don't participate in the assumptions of middle age people being dirty and dumb for there are so many delicious recipes with so much spices in it not only for the sake of taste or to cover rotten food but to make food into medicine. I tried hypocras similar to the origin talking about here ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/goqllJaIptipbK8 ) and can confirm, drinking a little sip after dinner makes you feel very comfortable regarding your digestion.
