I collect both Imperial Guard (yes I know it is Astra Militarum, but I am old) so the Ratlings will go into that army, and I also collect Orks, so they will go into my Waaagh! And a bonus is that I can use them for Killteam if I want to try and play that.

I was literally looking for a review of this set in order to see how the set goes together with the hivestorm set! Im in the process of building my hivestorm terrain and was worried about gluing it together since i didnt know how they would be set up together. Thank you for this! Like you I want the Orks. I don't mind the Ratlings either as I could put an Imperial Guard Army together as well. Like you say, the terrain that adds to the stuff we have as well is a nice addition. So it sounds like I pretty much agree with all you've said.

I really like the terrain as an extension of other terrain, but at the moment it's only available on the secondary market for$ about $60, and that's a nuts.

I ordered Volkus and Brutal/Cunning earlier today. I mainly got them for the Tankbustas for use in 40k and I think that's a good chunk of terrain for a 40k scrap. From what I can tell, the lower sections of those Volkus walls look like they'd be compatible with the older STC Ryza ruins terrain bits, so that could give me some options with stuff I already have 🤞

The add on terrain in this set looks really good! I hope GW supports it with maps beyond just narritive play. The 6 Volkus maps in the Critical Ops will get stale pretty quick.

I asked my FLGS to save me a copy and I hope that I will get it :). I'm more excited for the orks (and the pupper for the ratlings, I want to paint it :D). As for the Volkus terrain upgrades I'm excited for them, even though I didn't glue anything from that box yet. But now I'm wondering - if someone already had a fully painted Volkus set, they would have to glue on that wall upgrade thingy there? Or is there another way to do this?

Yeah you’d just glue the upgrade parts on top of the painted set! It’s a very simple part so it would be easy to paint separately! The pupper is definitely the best part of the set 😄

I don't tend to buy box sets largely because of their price, but also I don't want to fall into the trap of starting an army I'm not terribly interested in. That said, I think this is a really fun box. Still going to wait for the stand alone Ratling Kill Team release however, and I really hope this heralds the start of a new ratling division army.

I don’t personally play underworlds so I usually just paint the models for myself when I have time. It’s a hard one because the range is so vast at this stage and the videos wouldn’t do as well because each gang is quite niche! Hope that makes sense?

But a m8 at work insisted Killteam was diet 40k, no tanks etc just a few minis and short games 🙄 Well here iam, arse deep in grey piles of shame, every release procured, custom dice for each team, half a tonne in codexs, growing mountain of shiny orange boxes, stanley fat max trolley FULL of citadel paints and a constant need for that next release that has a new team I dont have with new lore. When they start selling these WITHOUT armies in them, I as a w30k/wh40k player, I want several. I, as mainly a Tyranid/Harlequin/Krieger player, am not interested in orks/SM/whatever that ain't my army. This is a cool hobby, but it ain't for the faint of wallet. So for me, I buy them things that are close to 100% useful for me.

@@MediocreHobbies The terain, the plastic set of terain. I talked to a friend of mine who wants the kill team so we split the prise. It realy looks cool and is not cardboard. The one thing I hate from my days in Mordheim, an otherwise 10/10 game, but back then, most if not all terain was cardboard. Edit: Found out that one of the kill team starter boxes has the rare Death Guard mini's ... me wantz... Poor wallet.
