I really love how you key in on the reason why we meditate. A little disclosure here; I was struggling mightily with a problem. My sensé told me that if I were to meditate for an hour each morning, he guaranteed I wouldn't even THINK about it the problem, and he was right. There wasn't even a problem after doing that.

In meditation you do not stop the mind. You just give it a rest. That means you do not try to stop any thought that comes. But on the other side, you also do not follow any thought that comes. When a thought comes, just notice it and let it pass. Another tip for not following any thought that comes: pay attention to your meditation posture instead.

BeSpiritMinded yeah, trying hard to stay with meditation, it's not easy that it seems to be because sex stays at subconscious and unconscious level too. sex is the most notorious weapon to fight against meditation. you are not alone or in jungle ....sex means the idea within you and the all possible partners in front of ur eyes. save if u can

I disagree on the opening statement. This is why people are struggling with meditation. People without knowledge are trying to give advice. Yes meditation helps in improving our relationships, our health and energy levels. It also helps with developing our subtle senses and ability to understand the nuances of communication. However meditation is the calming of the mind to a state of thoughtlessness where you escape even the dimension of time. You can feel you were meditating a few minutes but your observe that the actual time that passed could be over an hour or at a later stage, several hours. So meditation happens when thoughts stop and this is achieved with practice under the right guidance of a qualified teacher

Dear osman, I really appreciate your comment, but we got to know that not everyone is doing MeDiTation to have that thoughtless process, because it's really a busy world now!! MeDiTation is like a tool for people now to get rid of stress anxiety and other stuff !! But as you said , that type of MeDiTation is for advance level !! Many people love and stick with basic but some seekers want moreeee...so thats were second advance version comes in 😊✌️

The initial foray into what constitutes meditation, and about the more powerful form of meditation for "householders" makes SOOOOOOO much more sense to me than all the fluff I've heard perpetuated about it to now. Turns out I've been meditating all along. Go figure.
@Kutiebear9 жыл бұрын
+procrastistamper It is INSANE once you realize this!!! LOL. When I came to the full realization that meditation is not about emptying the mind, but actually (re)solving matter that you want to let go, it all made so much more sense!!! Especially when I realized that I do this naturally after leaving a situation, I automatically reflect and ask myself, "What did I enjoy from that? What do I not want to repeat or what could I improve on for the next chance??" This is meditation. :) Reflection and Letting Go

Emily is engaging. I like Emily. Emily is wrong. Meditation, for a few thousand years, was in very important part specifically about stopping the mind/body complex fully. Yoga Sutra 1.2: Yoga is the cessation of the fluctuations of consciousness. The Pali Canon of the Buddha: the four Janhas and the four formless realms. Among others. Giving a command to stop the mind is possible, if rare in our modern world. Telling people it is unattainable is a marker that more education is needed. Why might you want to stop the mind? That is a valuable conversation to have. Is it hard to stop the mind? Nearly impossible. Can it be done? Without a doubt. I can sometimes do it myself. The experience is transformative at the deepest levels.
@AmaindeJH7 жыл бұрын
Ron Blouch Emily is engaging. I like her too. She is right, and you are too. I have experienced the type of meditation that you (Ron) are describing (turning off the mind). Emily doesn't teach that type, and I think she's pretty clear about that. That's not the goal. Having deep, transcendent or out of body/astral body experiences as a beginner can be dangerous and uncontrollable. I know from personal experience because I was guided into a too-advanced meditative state very early in my practice, and continued to get there every time I meditated until I got creeped out and just stopped. This makes it more difficult for me to let myself enjoy an experience like what Emily teaches. If you are fearful, you can't meditate very well. What's the point? Beginners need to stay more connected to material reality, for their own safety and sanity. Well maybe not everyone but I think most do. Thanks Emily for making your knowledge so widely accessible!

The fact that the 'woo' was reigned in, and that the technology was presented without attachment to said 'woo', make this an excellent, if not spectacular, video. There was mention of a 'god' "in the details" once, whatever that term was employed for; and mention of a "sixth sense" in conflation with intuition and 'right brain' which was unnecessary at best and inaccurate at worst, but, again, that line of pseudoscience explanation was truncated in favor of an objective technique. 4.2 out of 5, and a thumbs up.
