From reducing stress and anxiety to increasing focus and concentration, meditation is a simple yet powerful practice that can change your life.
In this video we will first have a look at why you should meditate in general and which benefits it has. Then we will see how you can do that while at the same time improving in your target language, using meditation apps.
Small disclaimer, first. You shouldn’t be a complete beginner in the language otherwise it might drive you crazy, when you try to calm and relax, and you don’t understand anything.

Thank you for this very interesting video. I also meditate for years now, however I don't do it the guided way, I absolutely agree! It helps me a lot to be balanced and focused and to challenge obstacles confidently with a positive mindset. So yes, I also absolutely agree that hardships and busy times are the times we need that time for ourselves the most. Happy to hear you found your goove back to something that feels beneficial to you :) Although I don't listen to another language while meditating, my language learning is definitely profiting from meditating. :)

You're welcome! Oh, I also often meditate just by using a timer and concentrating on my breath :). Glad that you also like it and that you benefit from it. But especially at those stressy times it can be really hard to actually make time for it :D. So many benefits in every way :).

Hey man I just found your youtube channel and have been binging your videos the lasts couple days and all I can say is WOW. I've been learning casually learning french for a little over a year and after visiting France have wanted to take my learning more seriously. I dove into the research behind acquiring a second language and learned a ton but have been really struggling to figure out how to bridge the gap between theory and practical application. Your incredibly thoughtful and evidence based approach to language learning has been an absolute god send. You do such an incredible job marrying the research with actionable advice and suggestions. I really can't thank you enough for all the work you've put into this channel ❤

Insight Timer is also very good! OMG you nailed it. Super helpful as I use the app but didn't THINK of using it for language learning....WOW thanks.

Meditative practice has been proposed in sleep disorders for several reasons: it promotes an attitude of openness and acceptance of our state, thus making it possible to reduce cognitive hyperarousal. The meditator can observe thoughts, feelings and let them be there.
