Pratyahara is not concerned with the thought process, it is concerned with the sensory inputs and their perceptions. Pratyahara Sadhana has 3 stages. 1. Sharpening and developing all senses (12 or more), and trying to keep the sensory input as clean as possible. 2. Control of the senses - through imagination and power of visualization. it is basically the same practice as in western magic. 3. Going beyond senses - continuation of a 2nd stage, only now your control is such, that you can switch them off at will. it is pretty simple. Yama and Niyama - building the stabil base around you and in you Asana - control of your body Pranayama - control of your energy Pratyahara - control of your senses Dharana - control of your mind as a whole Dhyana - letting go of all control and of the one who is controlling. Samadhi - ultimate surrender

The senses are connected to the thought. I think it is the same point. You are Looking at it from the sensory input which then influences the thought and Dada is also looking at it from redrawing the mind from outside which the sensory does not affect the thought.

@@akthebeatz Pratyahara is not concerned with perceptions, which is the function of the mind, it is focused on senses. you can look at it like this: sensory input plus mind processing is perception. Pratyahara Sadhana first try to filter the mind processing, increase the sensory input, gaining control of sensory input and then eventually eradicate it, going beyond. Pratyahara is about mastering the senses, so the mind can be free to go on to Dharana. you can never become a master of your perceptions, but you can master your senses. and you need to be at least at the certain degree, if you expect your mind to be able to focus - Dharana.
