I'm sorry for my bad English but Dada you're my mentor even though I'm in Greece I'm 18 years old today I've been listening to you for 1 year and you've changed my life I never thought there would be such a good world out there with such a good heart and soul. Ever since I was a kid, I've been over-ingesting everything, and I've gotten to a point where I've been hurting myself. I felt like I was tired of the world here, the natural world, and I was looking for an escape. And I found you wishing

What does Dada mean when he says fast twice a month? One full day without food? That is over 24 hours from dinner to breakfast? If he means no liquids either he would have said dry fasting?
@MeditationSteps
@MeditationSteps 3 жыл бұрын
Fasting is on the 11th day after the full moon and the 11th day after the new moon. These days are called Ekadashi (the eleventh). You can google ekadashi calendar suitable for your region. The fasting we practice involves not eating after you took your dinner the day before your fast, until your breakfast the day after the fast. Dry fasting means no food , no liquids. More info about ekadashi you can find in the video 'Fast - And Be Healthy Forever' kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6SlmZqqbcqAnrc

This is a difficult msg to deliver (not to sound negative) and probably even harder for most accept, but should be mentioned.. Your friend referred to here from the family of sadhak's. Well I've come across quite a few of those amazing type of beings in my journey as well. And in my earlier stages, I too was very entranced and intrigued by their "way". I gathered some great insights and infinitely valuable inspiration from them, to use on my path. I always aspired to shine like them, thinking one day I will help transform this world into a better place more naturally by doing so. HOWEVER, if those souls have yet to suffer through any of the harsh realities of life firsthand (sheltered life- in similar manner as Siddhartha Guatama's pre awakened stage). They will simply remain as caterpillars until a change occurs somehow. Beautified, advanced, wonderful caterpillars- yes, but they have not yet faced the "dark night of the soul"- not yet suffered though the cocoon phase of the soul's journey towards enlightenment. The butterfly's metamorphosis takes place through a trial by flames. A death of all that is old and comfortable and familiar. Pain and suffering are part of its purpose in order to build the muscles and fortitude required to wriggle out of that cocoon, and become what you actually are destined to be (already ARE/ have in seed form inside). This brings sympathy and compassion by being better equipped to relate with the suffering of others. To more effectively help them. So remember, if your life at any point appears lesser than other's, in comparison to those you consider greater in any way.. any "less holy or divine" remember, it is only the mind misinterpreting and judging ourselves and others. And we may be further ahead on our paths than we currently realize. The divine is always guiding all with equal vision. We're always where we need to be if we have the eyes to see. So please remember to trust in self/God, first and foremost. Others are helpful, but can detract from/slow down our personal destiny if we aspire too much to be like they are, and less like unique wonderful selves. Wonderful video and.. Namaste 😑🙏
@11Rogue-Disciple11

Also to clarify, I'm aware some people may appear to have never faced the hardships in life- the dark night. However, may have done so in a prior incarnation. Which explains why some naturally seem to be able to relate and have empathy since a young age. But I believe the "watery" eyes, that sparkle we sometimes see. Is really an indicator of a pure type of innocence. It may be of the first childhood innocence /pre awakening, or the return to innocence, "born again"stage. But I think it's sometimes not so easy to determine which. But I digress, because it really doesn't matter so much, as long as you learn how to learn from all with equal vision. That's how you see God all the time 😇

garlic, onions, mushroom, orange lentils and white eggplant - its tamasic food
@h0ph1p13
@h0ph1p13 7 жыл бұрын
It is very easy to explain. At least for garlic and onions.. Try drinking a glass of orange juice - you will be fine. Now try drinking a glass of onion juice. You will need to go to the hospital for a pumping of your stomach after that... garlic and onions are too aggressive to the digestive system. Even a little and cooked garlic you need to invest from your own energy to "deal" with its chemical reactivity. There is a good amount of info on yogic eating principles Watch this for example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onnPhKB3nqqIrck

Dada, I love your videos. They were recommended to me by one of your countrymen. But I have some confusion about the rigidity of the sattvic diet that you prescribe.. I accept that there are mental qualities to food that affect the kind of energy it produces within the body. That's why things like garlic and onions can be forbidden even though they are otherwise regarded as nutritious. Those examples I accept because I have felt the energy drain of food prepared with Garlic and onions. Other things, it's confusing Mushrooms, psychedelic and medicinal, are known to have powerful neurogenerative properties as confirmed by extensive research. So how can they be bad for meditation? I'm also a shamanic practitioner and tobacco (mapacho, not cigarettes) is important in our ceremonies. My conclusion is that the ayurvedic principles behind the yogic diet cannot be hard and fast rules, but guidelines to be adapted to one's individual constitution. A third example is milk. The yogic masters say milk is very good but many others would say that it causes too much inflammation to be conducive to meditation, even though I accept milk as a sentient food. I read Swami sivananda's Kundalini Yoga where he prescribes the sattvic diet but also says after a certain time one can ease the rigidity of the diet.

@rajeshd9462
@rajeshd9462 6 жыл бұрын
In such situations, one can sit in any convenient posture (including having spread the legs). It is important that one's body is at ease and left loose so one can focus his/her mind on one's breath instead of the aching / troubled body parts. my 2 cents of contribution :-)
