Can't wait for your video about fasting! ❤️ I tried water fasting a few times and I was very good during the day when I was busy at the university, studying and listening to lectures... But when I got home, I couldn't stop thinking about food so I broke my fast in the evening 😓

Namaskar Dada, I did not know you did retreats in Siberia. I am 54 yrs old from Ontario Canada and the cold has always been a mental challenge for me, not as much as before. So when you mentioned people coming there to stay for a week or so, I felt like this is something I’d like to do, despite the cold, which will be a great challenge for me and possibly an enjoyable one. I’d like to know more about it. Thank you 🙏🏼💜🇨🇦

no matter what you eat, if you sweat through physical exercise or things like sauna or steam bath, you gonna be ok, because most of the toxins will be out of your system. sweating is better then the shower. get sweat and then taking a shower is the best. in my experience, people who sweat a lot don't smell, their sweat doesn't smell half as strong as people who are not used to sweat. when they sweat, it is really smelly. cleanliness of the mind is just one aspect of the cleanliness of Cittas. meaning perceptions, emotions, and thoughts. you need to purify all of them. they need a certain level of purity in order to master them to at least some degree which is the task of Tapah and Swadhyaya. if you try to avoid certain emotions, they will come back later and bite you in the ass. or you will become numb and insensitive. what you want to do is to transform those emotions, facing them, going through them, not behind them. how to do it? the first step, the step of Saucha is to recognize them as they are. it is simple, but not easy. Sherlock Holmes used to say: "You see, but you don't observe." observe! Analyze! avoiding, denying can work for a while, can work momentary, but never in a long run. if your state of mind depends on your environment, it is superficial, weak, and not lasting. and that will happen if you try to avoid. at the beginner's stage, it might be a good policy for a while, ultimately, you will have to face the "demons" of the world and most importantly, your own "demons". there is no other way. Mantra is one way to transform your Cittas, I'm not a fan of Mantras in general (apart of OMkar) , but there are many other ways. at the stage of Saucha, awareness is enough. Anger? Greed? Lust? great! see them, recognize them in their pure form. see them clearly, without modifications, without sugarcoating, thy not to act on them and this itself will initiate the transformation process. a lot more work needs to be done after that, but a good first step leads to the second and the third and so on. One big mistake is to think, that Saucha means pure emotion and pure thoughts. that is wrong! Saucha means your inner eyes needs to be clean and pure, your inner lances needs to be undistorted. that is more than enough. try not and i repeat, try not to be a good person. rather at this stage, try to be honest. try to be real and aware of your inner reality. with your perceptions, emotions, and thoughts. then you have made the first and most important step towards being a master of your inner reality. "flipping the coin" technique is a good one, because Cittas are part of the duality, so going to the opposite side is kind of easy and it works. yes, you may try it, but at this stage, I don't recommend it. seeing clearly is enough. transformation of energies is a subtle process and it should not be rushed. In Tapah, you progress to be a very authoritative Master of your Cittas, and then in Swadhyaya you progress to be a nice and benevolent Master of your Cittas. so don't get too ambitious too soon. transformation takes time. another important aspect of Saucha, you didn't mention is to clean your environment, your body with awareness, you can wash your hands or taking a shower or emptying your bowels and it is good, but Saucha means that you don't do it just mechanically like a robot, you are actually involved with the process of cleaning. it is another subtle, but important difference.

Thanks for the teaching sir. I have a question. I am curious why are mushrooms considered as dark food? The reason I asked is because for some vegetarians, mushrooms add some variety.
@TheAlmaty1013 жыл бұрын
Mushroms grow without the light, without photosyntesis, and also as food they cause depression and evoke low instincts, that is why they are considered to be dark or tamasic.

Mushrooms and fishes are good source of vitamin d that is very important for Human, escpecial when not many sunny days (atum and winter)Natural antidepressant. How that food can be bad..?
@wouterdesmedt17367 жыл бұрын
The tamasic foods degenerate the mind, not necessarily the body. Animal foods are however not beneficial for the health of the body. And fish is the most polluted food on earth in these modern times.
@kindasorta30405 жыл бұрын
Adam - there are many sources of vitamins - plants, seeds, leaves, sunlight, dead animal/fish meat. You choose those that are available and appropriate to your current state of consciousness. If fish is ok to you, go with fish... when your consciousness grows you'll reach a point when fish becomes unacceptable and you'll start looking around for other sources of vitamins.

your way of purifying the mind (superimposing opposite thoughts and feelings) goes against Satya. this is not the way. awareness is the way. lust? greed? it is all good if you are able to look at it just the way it is. Saucha means, that your mirror is clean. you see things the way they are. Vitarka, saying yes to anything there is in the mind is the way of purifying the mind. full acceptance without judgment - this is good, this is bad, this is high, this is low is pure mind. only if you accept you can let go. if you try to fight, you are stuck. acceptance deepens with Santosha and even more with Tapah, but this is the first step and you know that if the first step is wrong...

Wait a minute. In the beginning he talks about the master washing his hands more than once. What about friendly bacteria. Necessary bacteria just don't go too far with this cleanliness do not be obsessed. I'm sure there are many people that could get obsessed with this.
