the brooklyn and queens pack has some neat rowhouses if you zone out residential in smaller lot sizes! would love to see some of those mixed in

What lot sizes do you need for row houses?
@benjaminjonathanjamessisko70954 ай бұрын
@@adamjones1805 I quite like the 1x2 Brooklyn bulidings (1 against the road, 2 back). If you zone them with a gap in between, wait for them to grow in, and then zone the gaps, you get some lovely-looking terraces.
@KingDavidCreates4 ай бұрын
Agreed and seconded, I feel like so few people know the rowhouses even exist because 90% of the time people use it, it's the big blocky brick zones.

Another Monday episode to the rescue! To echo many others, it's always a highlight of an otherwise rough start to the work week. A suggestion for the pollution issue that's popped up a couple of times around some residential zoning -- I enacted the policy for industries to filter their waste. I can't tell that it's affected my budget (after a couple of milestones, cites are always rolling in the money anyway) and it has worked. It fixed my issue where we added a bit of generic industrial zoning to spice up the tram depot. It takes a while for the pollution to dissipate, but it worked. Anyway, I'm just addicted to watching you work your magic!

ha! another wonderful episode. You talking about Bodegas make my heart happy. Bodegas are small convenience stores scattered all over the NYC boroughs, (except maybe State Island) I haven't spent much time there. But basically you can get anything in a bodega, and there is always usually a few cats lounging around. It's a whole thing!

I could see a botanical garden like you said. The Oxford one is on a (much smaller) river bank and is a vibe! On the train/metro hub, whilst the in-game ground level hub is ground level it could line up with the elevated tracks by being on a raised plateau. This would also add layers of height 😎

Just a little hint: if you want to reduce industrial pollution, you can create a neighbourhood on the industrial area and apply a couple policies to it! There are some that help a lot with it.

I would suggest you end the black trolley bus line in that sharp bend and at another line in the new area from that point on. Basically splitting the line up. And in my town we have a lot of tram and busses. First of all, if possible, you need for that big road a separate bus lane. And basically every intersection that has a tram on it is set up in a way that the tram has always the right of way. Try that, I think it speeds things up
@currently_heather2434 ай бұрын
Love the simple school campus and the industrial evolution/brooklyn& queens combo! 🎉 Maybe you could do a small tram/trolley bus interchange and upgrade to trams on the main arterial into the new b&q area?

Egg, a little thing I do with pathways that have to cross the roads is go up 9 m. at the spot you want to cross, then go straight for 2/3 units, turn right or left 90 decrees and lower again by 3m, repeat and you have what looks like a more realistic stairway to go up/down the overpass. I hope you understand what I mean.
@KingDavidCreates4 ай бұрын
Yeah the main concern seems to be that you have a major high-density residential area on a what is basically a glorified Cul-de-Sac. With only one major road out to the rest of the city, public transit will help but will likely be a pain point until the city can create other routes in and out. I also just want to make a vague suggestion of a rowhouse district in the future, it feels like such an under utilized part of B&Q that I feel like 90% of people don't even realize exists because very few people use small 1x2 high density zoning. A lot of people just use the big medium density 3x4 or 4x4 assets, which while nice feel a bit too big and intercity for more rural areas. Otherwise, always happy to see more CS1.

I don't know if it will work in the game, but one real solution to excess demand at particular stops would be to run a limited stop service. Run an extra trolley bus or two running express between that overloaded stop direct to the terminus
@thepocketlion64704 ай бұрын
I'm not sure if you already do this, but you should absolutely put these builds into the steam workshop every 5-10 episodes or so, or after a large build, it'd be great to play along.

at 23:39 you put Rannoch billboard near the highway. Sorry for my english but close drivers can only see back of it and far drivers can see but its not close to them. Try to change the spot of billboard to across the highway.

Ep 9 already, going by so fast. Keep it up egg, loving Rannoch so far. Sad I'll never be able to complete my river delta though (console 25 tiles). Do you have plans to do similar on the farmland at the other side of the map, there's a similar delta-y type thing by the rail as it comes in to the map

Honestly, I'd love to see your thought process on fixing the traffic situation. While I think that extra connection you mentioned will certainly help, I'm not convinced it will mitigate tha snarl-ups of a trolley bus running through the middle of a roundabout and stopping the traffic. I could be wrong, of course, and I probably am. If the additional connectivity doesn't solve the issue, I'd honestly be tempted to make that whole section an overpass. That arterial goes up and down over something as you come into the city, then hits the roundabout. I don't *think* there are any connections on that section, so why not raise the whole thing, take it OVER the roundabout and have sliplanes coming off/on either side. It may be overkill, I dunno, but that's why I wanna see you work through it :)
@OVERCHARGEDEGG4 ай бұрын
We'll see what comes of it! Apparently there's a stop sign there too which I didn't realise!
@tobiasalexander44914 ай бұрын
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG I didn't spot that either. Switching out that roundabout road to highway (no crossings, hilarious high-speed lorry turns) may also help.

I’d check to see if you have a node too close to the roundabout. The AI tends to do that when there’s a node too close to an intersection
