highly recommend developing b&w on your own. I’m definitely assuming here, but in most of your images there are some hints of over agitation or over developing that I used to see from labs. Labs are great for c-41 but not for b&w. Just my 2 cents as poor results can quickly make you not want to try a type of film. Also big ilford HP5 fan over here. Perfect for darkroom printing too as it is flatter and gives you more to work with vs a film that is already high contrast where you lose details in the highlights and shadows.
