I don’t understand a point ! Alpha 2 is minimizing sympathetic so how it’s classified as a sympathomimitic drug
@DrAymannh4 жыл бұрын
Same question
@MedMadeSiriuslyeasy4 жыл бұрын
Sympathomimetics are those agents which act on all the receptors of the sympathetic nervouc system that includes alpha one, alpha two, beta one, beta two and dopamine receptors. If you say that it will activate alpha two receptors and thus negative feedback will inhibit further norepinephrine release, then you can say the same about normal norepinephrine release during a normal sympathetic response. By that, I mean that let’s forget about the alpha two agonist and just say that we simply have a normal physiological sympathetic response, even then, there will be functional alpha two receptors on the presynaptic neurons. That means that you shouldn’t focus on it like that. You should only think that sympathomimetic drugs are those which act on the sympathetic NS receptors regardless of where they are present because these receptors have different functions even in normal physiological response. Don’t just think about it in terms of fight or flight response because different receptors have different functions It'll be better if you call them Adrenergic Receptor Agonists and then you can figure out their uses by thinking what receptors have what function normally I hope that explains your concern

Norepinephrine acts ona1a2andb1 so it never increase blood pressure you said why????u
@muhammadirfantahir4 жыл бұрын
Instead of increase, use word decrease and your query will be solved. Because she said, it will never decrease B.P. Beta 1 receptors r in the heart, so by stimulating beta 1, B.P will not be decreased.
